1. You would have to get resident (15k) then Mayor (85k) to get that area protected, or you can buy a protected plot from someone.
2. Im not sure about this one.. might be a glitch. This has never happened to me
3. If the person has the Tp ability (teleportation), they can either tp to you, or have you tped to them. If not, you can both meet at spawn and walk to a safe location to make the trade.
4. A melon sword is eff 5 unb 3 silk sword. Because in the 1.3 update eff 5 tools got nerfed, this is the best way to farm melons.

1. Any place in the wild, which is not a town. Can get griefed by anyone, as it is not against the rules. To prevent greifing and get a protected area. You would have to buy a plot of land, in a town. You are given a town, once you achieve the rank of mayor, which costs 85,000.
Plot prices are set by the mayor of the town. But normally 10x10 plots go for 1,000. Once you have bought your plot in a town (Protected area) you will most likely never be griefed. However, there is a small chance you will, as there can be a rule breaker that griefs the town. Please make sure you understand that greifing in the wild is fine. But in a town (Protected area) is stricly against the rules, and whoever does it, will get banned. So, if you ever do get griefed, please ask the town mayor to fill in a grief report, so the griefer gets banned.
No one can destroy things in the town, unless the mayor adds them to the town.

2. I have no idea what this is, you probably should show it to an staff member so he can take care of it.

3. Once you auction something, and it ends. You can either have the user Teleport to you or get him to teleport you to him. To be able to use the TP you need to have the respective donation feature. If none of the users have the TP feature, you can both do /spawn and walk around, until you find a safe place to do the trade. Don't forget to take screen-shots of the trade, so that if you get scammed, you can post a complaint and get the scammer banned.

4. An melon sword, is a diamond sword with Efficiency V and Silk Touch I
People obtain these swords from the Nether Star shop. Melon swords cost 1000 nether stars each.
You obtain nether stars by voting. If you vote on all votes, you get 6 nether stars a day.
The melon sword is used to farm melons, and is one of the most profitable ways to make money (In my opinion).

We used to have 6 voting sites. We currently only have 3. You can sometimes get one of the lucky tiers and get extra stars.

I claimed malfeasor's town, and during claiming I noticed he donated. He doesnt have his slimeball medal anymore. Is that due to inactivity?

 

If he hasn't logged on since we got the medals back, he'll need to login to get them. Donation medals are updated while in-game.
