There are plenty of things you could build with redstone that allow you to automate these fully without using macromod or anything similar (especially with newer redstone blocks that have come out recently) E.G. Observer blocks would be a simple way to detect when a melon grows, and that would trigger a piston which would break it, transporting it via hoppers into a chest. And all you'd need to do is afk near it to keep them loaded so that the melons grow.

 

Im confused, you want a feature called redstone but then you want said feature to be hoppers? that makes no sense. Also 'redstone' is not disabled. Large and permanent clocks are illegal because they cause lag (I have accidentally lagged the entire server working on redstone). Pistons and hoppers have always been banned for lag, exploit, and duplication issues. I know a lot of redstone builders like to use pistons, however I have never not been able to build something because of a lack of pistons (other than piston type screens or movers and such obviously).

this isnt the old days we only get like 50 players - i dont see lag being an issue.

 

not pumpkins or melons, but things like sugar cane and stuff. that can be automated

 

They could be easily farmed without any work using items such as hoppers. Also this will again increase server lag due to the amount of people you will have using afk farms at one time, its basically another way to cheat the economy. I mean afk farming (apart from eggs) is already illegal and having these items will potentially increase the amount of players who try auto/afk farming as it will be a lot easier to do. Another thing is I can't see any reason why to add these because all you need to do for egg farms is place water, spawn the chickens in the water and stand underneath it, letting the eggs produced drop into your inventory yet every other type of afk farming is illegal so not really any point unless your trying to illegally afk farm.

 

I'm not interested in exposing the server to lag issues just because we want to have another feature.
