WorldEditor: $30 Donation that gives a Permanent once-a-month Allowance of 1 World Edit cut. This can be "sold" to other users by having this month's WE voucher applied to someone else's world edit request.
WorldEditor+: $70 Donation, allows once-a-week World Edit Cuts, AND once-a-month World edit Set OR Replace, only usable with 5-10 cent blocks as usual.
World edit set/replace no longer available.
Also, with these donations you are given a special "award" on the forums to show that you have it and which one you have (maybe a Diamond shovel for WorldEditor and crossed Diamond Pickaxes for WorldEditor+) this way andrew doesn't have to check an annoying list to find out if they have it, he only has to open a notepad file and ctrl-F to find their username and whether they have used it this month/week. to make things easy ALL reset on the first of each month or every monday for the week one. to also make things easy world edit requests can (if andrew thinks its a good idea :p) be done on a specific day like sunday each week at a specific time or some such.
I would like this just because of the Massive cost of world editing now. For those who respond with "lag" immediately, once a month lag isnt that bad for a $30 donation, and $100 for once a week isnt either. Not to mention they may not always use their "Voucher" each time it is available.
questions/comments/lag/waffles/im.so.poor.in.game.this.would.be.great!/rabid.nuu.whyyy/batman/thecake/anything is welcome :D

Bad idea will not happen its easier just to pay for it in game and andrew does not have enough time to do all hes doing anyway this will just add more things he has to do

People would just mess shit up and set the whole lava to wild, not a good idea in my opinion, it would be cool if people wouldnt abuse it, but I have a feeling they would. Sorry rabid

Andrew will deny this in a heartbeat, :p
1. It gives way too much power to donators, and opens too much room for abuse. How are we going to be able to control those users who have it from using it where they shouldn't? If you're suggesting giving them the WE ability(which i'm hoping your not), WE does not understand Worldguard and it would allow for a massive problem.
2. People who cannot donate for such an option are kept away from it, mainly for the fact that the users who have such an option WILL use it. A free world-edit is a used world-edit.
3. How would you manage to get more than one world-edit a month? I need NINE MORE world-edits for my town and I've had to get FIVE already.
4. Doesnt take any money out of the economy, which is a big key part of the current prices.
World-edits aren't even that expensive. I have 9 towns in the ocean, and had i realized that Replacing water with dirt was cheaper than Setting the whole area to dirt, i would have saved even more money. -

people can abuse it in anyway they can find out. Maybe a glitch and they can do a huge greif and I think you dont need to be mayor of a town to use world edit there so someone can greif a person's town
-
ok a lot of people seem to think I am suggesting allow them to use world edit. this is Incorrect. what I am suggesting is that, with this doantion, if you apply for andrew to do a world edit for you, you would get one free a month. if you needed more, you could pay for them normally, and one a month is an extremely low amount.
also, they would only be able to world edit in the places that would normally be allowed, i.e. int here own towns only.
the selling part is if someone else applies for a WE cut, they can then post on that application to use their "voucher" to make it free for that person. -
Andy doesn't even want to give this to his staff... It's a huge burden, and to give it to users would be an utter fiasco. This feature would be extremely abused, and it would be way OP (Over Powered).

+1 but you could grief with it

ZOMG
No.
I am not suggesting people be given world edit
I AM suggesting that people get 1 free World Edit Cut per month... as in they apply for one, andrew does the world edit himself, but does not charge them. >.< -

Lol i know @rabidworm xD no one else gets it

Well there is probably no chance after today lol.
World Edit replace are now gone due to time constraints / taking too much time to do them.
Letting people donate for 1 free cut a month x 500 donators = Andrew having no time to do anything.

MATH TIME
I doubt 500 people will donate for this. Pluse, lets assume it takes about two minutes to WE cut. One minute to read and tele to location, one minute to take payment and the actual //set 0. Then, lets assume the average user will stay for about 6 months. This means it will take about 12 min of his time per person over a 6 month period. 12x5 is 60, so for every 5 people that donate he would use up 1 hour of his own time per 6 month period. 5x30 is $150.
Now, Personally I think $150 an hour is adequate pay, no? -

If people think this is "over powered" you could always raise the price a bit

Let's also say that they stay on for 6 months on average.
Worldedit is 30k+blockprice (on average around 35k)
30 people getting one worldedit every month for 6 months.
that's 35000*30*6 = $6,300,000 that could've been taken out of the economy.
A $900 ecodollars donation would be around $2,200,000.
6300000 - 2200000 = $4,100,000 not taken out of the economy.
The total money in the economy is around 75 million.
This would mean that just 30 people getting 1 free worldedit per month would be around 1/19 of the total balance.
That's 1/19 of the economy not removed like it should be.
(AndI bet around 60 people would get the feature so that's 2/19 of the economy)
This would cause some bad inflation. -

You cannot say that somethin that does not directly insert money in the economy directly inflates it.
Yes, a large number of people will donate and get a free world edit, but most of them would nothave gotten that world edit in the first place if it wasnt free. So in july there were 24 people who got a WE cut app. I would make a guess that about 1/3 of those who were going to WE anyways will now donate, because 2/3 would rather not use irl money. Anyone who would not have gotten a WE without the donation will not and should not count, because no money is being directly inserted And no money would have been removed by them anyways. So 1/3 of 24 is 8 people that will now get it free insted ofpaying. Ave cost of a WE before the 5k increase in price was 30k so lets use 35k ave price for these 24. 24x35 is 840 if i did my math right. 8x35 is 280. So, each month approx 280k will not be removed as it zhoukd have. X6 this means 1,680,000 will not be removed. You said that you guessed 30 people would donate? (But you really thought 60) and that 30 made 2.2 million in normal donation inflation? If now assumed all these people would rather have donated for ecd then we are now technically deflating the economy with this.
Oh yeah, and lets say 60 donate (4.4M ecd) andsomehow ALL 24 got this free (super unlikely) that would mean the economy, over a 6 month period, would only be indirectly inflated by 400k. Over 6 months. (1.6M x 3 = 4.8M) i say that isnt too bad either. Maths.
