Cannot state how much i disagree with this suggestion, as it would block uses out of global where it can't annoy you.
/ignore exists for a reason, and i think it suffices in this situation.

Maybe, but it's fun, and given the cooldown it's not like anyone really spams it. It's hard to read, but not impossible, and the people that can use it (patrons) are not usually the type to spam the n-word or some other chat related thing we'd have to moderate. I don't really see any strong reason for removal, just a personal preference from you and some others.

Besides, banning black text? That's racist. Smh.

 

I suppose we should ban &d from chat too then since 'some' people keep using chat for trade messages.

If it becomes a problem/user is being trolly with it we'll address it then. Otherwise I don't really see a problem with it being used, although I do vehemently agree it is ATROCIOUS.

It's a good thing we have trolling rules that apply regardless of whatever color is being used in chat.

If we are going to remove &0 for people who "troll" with chat thats difficult to read, then I guess we need to ban &d since people make trick pm's, &e for people who pretend to be in local chat, or &6 for people who pretend to be in staff chat (if staff chat existed, which for the record it doesn't).

Is it annoying? Sure, it can be. Does it need to be removed? No. I might argue that buying a lotto ticket 6 times (whatever is under the "limit" that staff defines as spamming) is more annoying than black text and serves no purpose other than to troll, but I don't see any suggestions to change that. Like others have said, staff can ban/mute/whatever the trolls who go too far, and there's no reason to completely remove black text, or any colors for that matter.

Colored chat is probably the most valuable feature of Patron, don't take parts of it away just because a couple people can't handle black text. If you seriously can't read it, then aim your crosshairs towards the open sky, or a light colored backdrop. Personally I don't think its that difficult to read. Sure its a little harder to read than the default white chat, but I never once had an issue where I was unable to moderate adequately because the chat's color prevented me from being able to read what was said, and to be quite frank that's a weak excuse to make.
