Network WideShort title for your suggestion:
Limit to Buying UnbansWhat are you suggesting:
I want to suggest to perhaps place a limit on how many unbans a single player may buy, perhaps have it limited to 3-5 purchases, and after that they may no longer purchase an unban.Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:
A forgiving workaround for this is that after a player has reached their unban purchase limit, they'll have to wait for months or maybe even a year at most before they may buy another unban and have their purchase limit reset.
Considering the store asks for your username before you buy anything, I think a script could be made counting the times that that username was used to purchase an unban. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm but a novice with programming, but I feel it can be done.)
It seems unfair that rich players who get permabanned can easily buy their way back into the server, literally!Other information:
It feels like paying bribe to the cops or the warden when you're put in jail and after that you're released again scott-free, completely absolved of your transgressions (minus the reputation).
The fact that permabanned users can merely buy their way back into the server would think that it wouldn't matter if they messed up again as long as they have the money to pay for the unban. And as far as I know, a ban is there to teach a misbehaving player a lesson, to reflect on their actions and to give them time to reflect and to change their ways. They can't exactly do that if they can just buy their way back in all willy-nilly and repeat the process.
My suggestion also takes into consideration the optimistic and forgiving nature of the server and its players, in which many believe that a person still has good inside them (no matter how little) and that they can change for the better.
Yes, this is true! And I also believe in this philosophy; HOWEVER -- I do not think it can apply to an overnight personality change, especially if a permabanned player in question has made grievous mistakes or faults against fellow players or the server in general, and they can magically change for the better after buying their way back in.
I'm willing to engage in more thorough open discussions about this, I only ask it be made in a constructive matter, and in no way name-drop or hint at any player/s that may come to mind regarding this matter, and I hope to hear from staff or any other players regarding this. How else will they learn their lesson?
Dad's credit card is a bit too loaded it seems -
If someone wants to get themselves permabanned 10 times and buy 10 unbans, assuming andrew actually lets it go through each time, let em. Easy money.

It's why I suggest for the unban purchase to have at least a "cooldown" of some sort to not only give the player more time to think of their actions and decisions, but also perhaps to give a sense of peace, rest, and some semblance of justice being served for the players who suffered the misbehaving ones' actions. -

With that being said, it's not like the users purchasing unbans or given the option to are that extremely disruptive to the server or that the feature is being abused. The most unban purchases I'm aware of from a single user is literally just 2. And, as always, if they're being disruptive again, we can just ban them yet again.
In this system, it actually keeps them to their word by hitting them where it hurts - their wallet. It's not hard to wait a bit and then write an essay of bullshit about how sorry you are, but it actually does mean something when your money is on the line.-

i agree with it - if limited to like 2 unbans for permaban then its would be up to commuity to decide if its worth to say No more of this person or keep unban however after 3rd ban - will be Gone permanatly = no coming back
however my idea is if user has unbanned for 2nd time - take any towns if any is owned and sell off or give away and wipe inventory and such to back to just basic builder means user has to work again and learn hard lessons meaning if user does again - he will lose access to Appeals and such meaning user will not come back and gone for ever if banned again however on 2nd time unban - user will lose access to staff application and blacklisted from becoming staff to prevent this - however those could lifted if user make improvements to behavior such helping people for X months or X years specified by Andrewkm or ban from spending unban purchuses after 2nd unban meaning user is on notice
also if admins reject unban purhurce - refunds shouldnt be sent out - instead is keep money - so its will give a hard lesson for user and their money -
Just throwing my two cents in for purpose of discussion.
I think the price should increase each time they purchase the feature.
Something like:
Unban = $60
Unban2 = $70
Unban3 = $80
Unban4 = $90
Unban5 = $100
Or:
Unban = $60
Unban2 = $75
Unban3 = $100
Just a thought.-

As US2 stated above, unbans can be rejected for whatever reason and the money returned. If Andrew feels like there will be substantial consequences by letting the user return, he will simply reject the unban pass. -1

There is no such thing as a permaban on ECC.. there never has been and likely never will be.
At least with this there is money coming into the server which benefits everyone. -
I'll worry about this once a player hits 5.
Currently the most a player has hit is 2.
Denying as it's, simply put, a problem for another day type situation.-
