I'm curious what benefit you think lifting this restriction on the topic would have. Could you elaborate on that?
This follows up with my adult friendly the server suggestion. Essentially I’m tired of staff butting in to a civil and simple conversation to make everyone on the server aware that what you are talking about is not ok. If I recall the rules for discord and such were written so that as long as everyone there was ok with a civil topic that it was fine. TL DR I’m tired of being yelled at.
I agree with the lifting the ban but if the alcohol ban is lifted I would like the devils lettuce ban to be removed aswell. Alcohol is more harmful then the green stuff.
TLDR, indeed. The staff of ECC are here to ensure the rules are followed, so being tired of them stopping you when you break a rule is... just weird. If you are tired of being 'yelled at' then the best course of action is to comply with the rules as they are because you know the rules exist and know what they are. Filing a suggestion as you have could, possibly, change the rule, but that does not negate the need to follow them in the meantime.
I guess I’ll just have to stop playing as will Andrew because we will have to have the ongoing conversation about why he is allowed to break the rules to new users that do not know him. I’m sure I can find plenty of rules to attack everyone with when there are a dozen users on and all are having a fine conversation. Also when I started on this server I did not seem to have as big of an issue with it as I have currently
@STAFF-04 Server Admin @ClarinetPhoenix please change the rules to allow civil discussions of such topic as long as no one online directly complains about it and feels uncomfortable, at which point the staff can nicely ask to take those discussions into /ch vip. Once this change is done, please respond here to inform everyone and potentially make a post in this thread to inform us of this. TL;DR I'm fine with these discussions as long as they are not obnoxious to the point they are literally being discussed just because it's allowed, and are not seriously & visibily bothering someone online.
