Well truthfully when I first started I had a buddy who played and he gave me a Diamond Pick with silk touch and I melon farmed with it to get Resident. That is not very efficient as it takes way too long. I suggest investing an Eff 5 Unb 3 axe and either cocoa farming or farming pumpkins. You could also go mining

 

I farmed pumpkins until my eyes exploded, then I SGed without kits in arenas 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Nowadays I have no idea what I do for money. Usually I McMMO train a skill and money comes in the process.

 

I suggest either mining or farming. That's the two best ways for newer players to earn money.

 

Right now, my best advice is to farm cocoa beans. Yes, it may take a while to replant, but it is so worth it. To make time fly a little faster while doing it so that it's not such a boring process, you can watch TV, listen to music, or watch movies. Whatever you do, don't talk in global chat. Waste of time.

 

I thought pumpkin farming wasnt that lucrative....
