Ok here's how it works.

First of all, leveling up isn't always in MMO. It's a plugin called MCMMO.
Depending on how many levels of a certain skill you have, you get certain perks. I'm sure you have seen the Disarming debate in the General section. Disarming is a perk gotten by having a high Unarmed skill. Another example is with excavation. Once you get to a high enough level of THAT, dirt/sand/anything dig with a shovel had different drops.

So yeah. Higher levels will benefit your gameplay and give you the advantage over number of others.

 

With enough of the mining skill you can get access to the super breaker ability. It's on a cooldown but once activated you can instantly break blocks for about 4 seconds and as you climb in level you can break more blocks with the skill and have a chance to drop extra items per block broken.

My cooldown is at about 300 seconds but if I use it on obsidian I can farm 10-15 in the 4 seconds depending on the extra drops. Takes a bit of prep to get the obsidian ready but it's easier since I have water/pyro donation ability.

Last time I checked MCMMO skills I noticed fishing is now disabled, Do any of you know why that could be?
