I am suggesting that the "mini modding" in ban appeals/complaints is against the rules.
I feel this is nessacary, because LOTS of people, all ranks, are posting things of complaints like
"please post this in the grief report section", or "we do not unban for x-ray".
This is not needed, as a mod/SM will say the exact same thing, so there is no need for the modding.
I personally find this annoying, and i think that people are just trying to gain their posts number higher, where they should be doing it on forum games, or off-topic.

    My 2 cents

So you're saying that if it has certain words in it a software will auto lock it? I don't get it

He's saying he's against Mini Modding. Mini Modding is were a NoN-Moderator acts like a Moderator, I don't think it has anything to do with Worlds and such.

I see mini-modding as a helpful thing. There’s a lot more users than moderators on the forums so mini-modding usually provides the users with quicker responses than if they had to wait for a real mod. So as long as the stuff there posting is correct I think mini-modding is fine. (There is a written rule against it though; it’s just not enforced much.)

I agree with you, I do it quite a bit cause' it bothers me to see someone waiting for a response, and I think it's wrong to just leave them blank with no answer. But at the same time, excessive Mini-Modding shouldn't be done, for example; saying "Stop doing this or i'll ban you", there's Mini-Modding, then just being helpful as you said, it all depends on what it's related to, as a Previous Moderator, to me, it's just a habit, which may be the same for many other users that "Mini-Mod".

I think it's fine to an extent. People should be able to and allowed to post what they think about it in the thread to say what they wish. However, if they are just going to say "They do not unban for X-ray" then you're not really helping and that's unnecessary. I can understand someone saying that at the end of their post if they give some other actual input, just so that the other person knows, but if it's all you are going to say, then don't even bother. Having several people repeat it over and over to you in your ban appeal just makes you feel worse about it because obviously everyone else knew, you will feel like an idiot.

I am not sure how other mods feel but I have to agree that mini-modding in "Ban Appeals and Complaints" is way overdone and not needed at all. I am pretty sure almost every mod watches that forum specifically when they are online so that complaints and appeals are handled in a timely manner. I watch it all day while at work even though I'm not logged into the game.

The reason I am against other users posting on these topics is that you are already dealing with someone who is upset. Whether they were banned or scammed the person is looking for an answer from a mod, and to pile on with (albeit sometimes correct) unnecessary posts is just not needed. If it's in the wrong format a mod will tell them it is, if there is something missing a mod will let them know, if their appeal has something wrong a mod will let them know. To hear it from everyone else AND then again from a mod for the official ruling is just not needed.

I ask everyone to please let mods do their job and stay away from posting on other peoples ban and appeal threads unless you are/were directly involved.

    Thank you.

I mini mod because I try to tell the user to use proper format or to change forums before the mods get annoyed or if they have a chance of unban or not

Mini-modding sounds okay to me, sometimes a mod can have a different opinion
than a regular member, and we all like different opions, Right?

As some people also stated above me, it's also pretty bad to keep the ban appealers waiting.
instead other people could just say that "xRay is will never be respected and you are permanent banned."
Cause the staff would make the same decision when it comes to Xraying, as an example....

Again, it is not your place to tell them if they have a chance or not though. You might know the rules forwards and backwards but maybe a mistake has been made, maybe a decision has come down from Andrew, maybe the mods know way more than what is being said by the poster, who knows. It is not your place to inform them of anything really, since "your opinion" is not the final decision.

    See Above.

So why do you need to put your 2 cents into the conversation? It almost seems like some like to post on ban appeals as some sort of taunt or flame against the person filing the appeal.

Remember the post is being made by someone who is more than likely a bit emotional at the time (whether over an appeal or a complaint) and the last thing anyone needs or wants is for the general public to pile on and give "their opinions" on the subject.

The forum rules already specifically state:

"There is to be no back-seat moderating. Let moderators do their jobs."

If this continues, the mods may need to "do their job" and issue punishments to those who decide to continue to back-seat mod / mini-mod.

Likewise. I am always watching them. Even at work.

I also believe that people should not be mini modding. Helping someone is alright so that their complaint or appeal can be processed appropriately. However, it isn't necessary to point out they have the wrong format.

Additionally, if you have any information regarding anything that can help in the judging of their sentence, feel free to post it in a friendly manner so as not to start a flame war.

And finally, on the server I believe friendly reminders to watch their language is fine. However, telling someone a mod will ban them for doing this or that isn't necessary as we don't always resort to the ban hammer.

You can't think of moderators as opinionated. Moderators are upholders of the law of the server. There is no difference in opinion when it comes to the rules. Therefore moderators do not see a difference of opinion unless it is something they need to decide on.
