I have highlighted the errors in this statement. You cannot reach $1,000,000 with pumpkins with just a pumpkin axe faster than melons with a melon sword. You MUST have fly to make profit faster with pumpkins than with melons. So your tools/$1,000,000 profit is incorrect. Either fix the accurate the amount of profit made by pumpkins without fly or add "Pumpkin - Fly - Item Cost $60 USD - Market Cost $300k-$360k" to your tools.
All of the assumptions for costs are for the user having fly, because that is optimal for all three to reach the amounts listed. Nothing is inaccurate.

Didn't realize that. If any speed modification optimizes the harvest though, I'd still prefer to say max efficiency is with fly.
Kuke, I see your point but, The decrease of pumpkins and increase in melons is what needs to happen, this would revive the nether star economy and have a better incentive a buying a melon sword. Not just a decrease in in pumpkins.
Doing both will highly unbalance things and cause economical issues elsewhere. Just because it might fix one market, doesn't mean it won't break others. Only way to bring the nstar market back is to add more to the netherstar shop - which Andrew is planning to do and/or is already doing (for example, people are talking about star swords now; no idea if they are new or just went unnoticed for a while).
i think melons should go to 2 dollars because if I need to pay 300-350 dollars for the tool to farm I need to make more money because farming takes so long to get money I don't think pumpkins need a nerf because it is what noobs use to get a melon sword but I thing melons definatly need to go to 2 dollars please
Pumpkins do not need a drop, and melons do not need a hike. Pumpkins COST MORE THAN A MELON SWORD to MAKE MORE THAN A MELON SWORD and that is SUPPOSED to happen! That my friend is called "balance". Fly costs more than a melon sword. You need fly to make more than a melon sword. This is what should happen. Melons do not need an increase, andrew obviously took in every single variable in the price drop of melons and leaving pumpkin prices. The prices are fine. Melon sword costs 200-250k to make just less than pumpkins do with fly Fly costs 300-360k to make just more than melons do with a melon sword. It's called balancing. If something costs more than the other it should make more than the other. Though I do agree melons need a raise, but not ALOT, maybe like $0.05. The prices are fine as it is.

You guys are all good at math, and everyone is right: If you farm pumpkins with fly (which is more expensive than a melon sword), you'll make more than a melon sword! And that's perfectly fine! Fly costs more, you should make more. Pumpkins with fly > melons! GREAT! Except you are missing the problem: Pumpkins without fly: 14k per hour. Melons with a melon sword: 15k per hour. Pupmkins without fly: Pumpkin axe (10k MAX). Melons with a melon sword: $200k NOW do you see the problem? *Rant over* But seriously, it's not the people with fly that I am mad about. It's the people WITHOUT fly that farm pumpkins and make almost as much as I do with a melon sword!
Don't get so angry man... you still make more with melons than pumpkins without fly... I don't think pumpkins should drop. They've been dropped like 8 times and never raised. Pumpkins aren't the economy breaker. The reason melons were dropped was because they were the economy breaker and andrew took that variable in. You still make more with melons if you don't have fly. Edit: Get andrew to raise melon sword efficiency >.> fixes everything... and just have like a chest at spawn to put your melon swords in that have your name on it so he can give it back to you Probably won't have time but it will stop everyone being so angry about balancing. Alright. But in all seriousness, I think melons should go up because of the imbalance in tool prices vs. the similarity in income rates between pumpkins and melons, for people WITHOUT FLY. I don't care that much about people with fly, and I think everyone makes a great point about how fly costs more, so you should make more. But I'm tired of people not understanding the depth of this problem. For people without fly, melons are only 1k per hour more than pupmkins. THAT'S the problem.
Adding to this, I donated for fly for 3 reasons: Portability/convenience Speed/no fall damage And farming. Seriously people, stop arguing and just get fly then if you are so angry :/
I am sorry But all u rich people have forgotten that how un fair it makes because it gives everyone with a melon sword a massive advantage if they farm with it and that will just make the amount of money in the sever go up which will mess with all the sever prices and the prices of shops. he lowered the prices for a reason they deserve to stay low
I am hoping that you realize melon swords are dropping in price drastically due to all the netherstars coming into the economy. At the rate they are coming in, if it stays steady, melon swords won't be worth much soon and it won't be such an "issue." Furthermore, people are sharing melon swords and essentially making enough profit that it hardly matters - meaning, the swords are likely used far more often as multiple people will use it (especially if they are in different timezones). EDIT: And if you are worried about people "losing money" because they bought a melon sword when they were worth more, or anything along those lines; well... Learn to play the economy. Hardcore economy means you learn to play it. Learn when things will drops, when they will go up; best times to sell, best times to hoard; constant fluctuating prices, imbalances common, balances common elsewhere. Nothing is stable or fair in an economy.
