so bringing back fair pvp wouldnt help bring it back with 90 percent of pvpers agree that mcmmo ruines pvp and pvp is no skill at all, why do you think unknown quit, 3point quit, you prob quit, cause of counters! like come on man.......
I do pvp quite a lot, but there are factors you are forgetting, mainly, timezones, when you're on I'm off and vise versa, I care about mcmmo because it is an important plugin, and honestly without it I'd doubt I'd still be on ecc or minecraft for that matter, and if both users are armored you can't kill someone in five hits no matter the levels.
+1. mcMMO has ruined pvp on ecc. before people ignored it, or just had low levels back when we had the nether pvp arena.. man that was fun... now 3point zard harry and others can easily kill anyone even though they might be better at pvp then them. UNFAIR!
... You do realize no one can kill almost anyone atm? I haven't even pvped in months for that reason.
First of all Harryhaz1 those were some awesome posts Second if you want challenge, if you want people to go in, throw on some reg diamond or prot 4 iron or even reg iron I do it all the time people fight me because even though I have mcmmo levels they have an advantage gear wise. So if mcmmo causes you problems balance it out for yourself if no one is fighting you give them better odds its more fun in my opinion anyway. No point in putting mcmmo to waste at this point, fix your own problem.
Want real skill? Play sg without a kit, that's real skill, eliminating McMMO in the pvp world makes no difference whatsoever, because the people with skill will still beat the McMMO people, I've seen a player with barely any mcmmo skills kill a high level swords user. And you know how? He had the skills to do so. If you want real pvp, how about we reverse your idea and disable pvp mcmmo skills (only the pvp ones) in the nether and let you guys fight it out there.
S Seems to me that you have been playing since January and there has been mcmmo pvp since then as far as I know so I don't know what you mean by bringing vanilla pvp back to ecc.
I agree totally with this suggestion. The only reason I don't play Pvp is because of McMMO. There were a ton of people with high levels, I saw no point in logging hours and hours into something with almost no return. While timezones and ect do help (or not help in this case) the amount of pvpers take a look at HG. Does the fact that a lot of people are offline mean that HG goes dead? I have never seen HG abandoned. On the other hand, it's a rare sight to see more then 3 people in PvP. There are always 100-200 people online. If people had enough interest in something, there would always be people doing it. I play minecraft for fun. When I have to start logging 50+ hours into training to do something, I turn around, and find something better to do.
As a pvper with a ton of hours into the swords skill WITH mcmmo +, I would like that mcmmo be disabled for pvp. Atm ECC pvp is not pvp... you see people blocking and getting counters then fighting back this is not how pvp should be. +1
Well as I spend a lot of time wishing people would fight me, I'm a little torn on this, despite mcmmo being quite overpowered, there really isn't a "going back" from mcmmo now. A few other extremely easy solutions are there though: non-mcmmo nether: As kuke said earlier it would make just as much sense to make nether non-mcmmo, leaving nether a supposed "even playing field." Nerfing pots: Something that has a far greater impact on pvp is potions, whether it be strength, regen, whatever might be over-powered at the time, it certainly decides far more fights than mcmmo ever could, so the most effective fix would be to render most of these ineffective. You'd certainly get a lot more people fighting because a fight wouldn't last 20 minutes because well... there wouldn't be effective pots. In a 20 second fight it really doesn't matter if you have a higher chance to counter, because in the end, at least in that case its whoever gets more hits off that wins the fight. So in conclusion, I'd say mcmmo should stay in the arena, I worked hard for it, I don't want to see it go. As for a way to bring more people to the arena, well not much to be done there, maybe make safe places for people to 1vs1 each other, I could see that bringing in some more people.
Your quote was in reference to the amount of people playing pvp. I then mentioned how SG always had people playing it, and pvp doesn't. And how if enough people were interested in something, there would always be people doing it.
Omg. I always get a laugh with these PvP rants. The fact is Ecc was never meant for real PvP. Unknown and many of us did what we could back in the old days to establish some sort of PvP enviroment and for a short while it wasnt all that bad. I agree McMMO does drastcally alter the true skill of PvP, unfortunately on an economy server that will always be the case. As long as their are people willing to donate in order to get an advantage (I am one of them), then there will always be an argument of unfairness. At the same time everyone has the same advantage whether they can use it or not. As far as many players leaving... There is just simply no financial gain to PVP anymore. Many users PvPed as a source of income. Since the recent updates, it is very difficult to make any real money on PvP. Everyone has max everything and there is very little demand, so the risk just out weighs the benifits. Again this is an economy server and the goal is to make money. So to basically sum all this up. MC has evolved and ECC with it. PVP just simply cannot truly coexist on this type of a server. I admire your efforts, but it just cannot happen.
I have personally spent over 200k for my clan's town, for mcmmo training facilities, we have trained hours and even with my lower skill levels I am able to kill people with 1000 acrobatics and 600 swords, with enough health potions and a strength and fire resistance potion we all have a chance.
