This is EXACTLY why this is wrong. "I don't want to hours training like everyone else because I can just spend money Irl and get it immediately with no effort.
I can see why your angry Ryan, but andrew could have made it a whole lot more overpowered. Take a look at most donating games, you pay just a little itty bit and you have it all. I really doubt anyone is gonna spend $200 USD to get one skill to the max. That's why the people that trained aren't getting ripped off, they're just getting a little help, because they don't really need to worry about people surpassing their hard work with dollars because, $200 bucks to a max McMMo level. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely not a millionaire, or the son of a millionaire, and I don't have $2,400 USD To spend on leveling up all my McMMo levels, or if I had trained a ton, at least $1,200 USD to top off all my current levels.
And it's EXACTLY the same with buying EcoDollars, but you don't complain about that. How many people do you think will buy level 1000 for $200? Or let me rephrase that, how many people do you think are willing to spend lots of money on getting McMMO levels? Of course, there are some rich people on the server who can do that, but more than 99% of all people will still train over 80% of the skills completely through hard work.
First the "rich/lazy" label is invalid. I work very hard for the irl money I have. A lot harder then anything anyone has done in game with anything. I have also worked hard my whole life to be fortunate that I am fairly comfortable with my net worth. Just because someone has money, doesnt mean they are lazy by any means. Secondly. Not everyone has the ability to spend 8 hours a day on the server every single day. Some of us have irl events that are more important, however we still want to have the same advantages as everyone else. The ability to irl to accomplish more in game evens up that gap with players. If a player can afford to spend 50 hours levelng up mcmmo, then good for them. If a player can't then this will allow for them to remain on an even plane with everone else. I will gladly support the server and make my life easier for $10. Kudos to andrew for being smart and offering a way for everyone to achieve more regardless of any irl differences! andrewkm
kukelekuuk00 The issue is that Eco$ exchange rate is so bad nobody would do it. The McMMO levels are not near as poor of an exchange - speaking in terms of time-to-money. andrewkm I find is incredibly disconcerting that you disregard our opinions (the overwhelming NO to this feature) and then just say "see ya" to somebody who has donated over 100$ to your server. Seems like you are just money grabbing and don't care about the players - not even the ones that have paid you. To me that is a true sign of a failing leader. I decided to leave that part out, because frankly, the majority of the people who donate for those features are kids with their parents' creditcards, I understand you are one of the hard workers, and I know more of those people. But my point still stands (aside from the rich and lazy label)
I don't see what the problem is. Servers pretty much run on donations, so whats wrong for getting something for your donation? Its pretty much "I don't like what other people get as a reward for helping to support the server I play on" Guys, Its to support the server. Take it or leave it. Its an OPTION. You don't HAVE to get it, but it helps you and the server.
I find it a bit disconcerting that you question andrew's leadership. As a server owner he doesn't have to ask anyones opinion at all. In Fact I have seen server owners who make changes or add things without hearing any opinions at all. As far a the player who threatened to leave. Im sure you can imagine the number of times andrew has to read that a player is upset at his decision and will leave because of it. It happenes every time. With 10k people in this community, there is no way you are going to make everyone happy. The fact that peolle continue to think that their departure will ultimately change the outcome of a decision completely baffles me. Your here for a reason. I would say its because of ghe quality of the management of one of the best servers out there currently. Take it from people whi have been here the longest. Change will happen. Deal with it or move on. The server will get along just fine without you.
Yeah, sometimes Andrew has to put up with a lot of stuff. I knew that if I invested two and a half years of my life into something, I really wouldn't want someone to rage in the face of my work and insult my leadership. This change doesn't really effect me, I don't bother much with McMMo, but it does contribute more donations to the server, and that is a good thing.
With me being on the server for 99% of the 2.5 years that I have played, I have seen the hard times that Andrew has had to go through, and even seen what he does on day to day in person. If I were Andrew, I would try to extend the longevity of the server, and by any means necessary. If It means adding the ability to buy mcmmo levels, so be it. It helps the server , and even though it does hurt some people who have worked their lives off to do it, it helps more than it hurts. To someone who has done not too much mcmmo work it comes on as a benefit. But I do think that if someone who hasn't been here even 1/2 the time the server has been here, comes and makes a sweeping statement, is wrong. Andrew, hat's off to you for all the work you do.
