WolvieD2GMarkWhat part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for:
Main ServerShort title for your suggestion:
Donator Kits for Decorative BlocksWhat are you suggesting:
I'm suggesting a $10 Donator kit / block type. Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:
The thought I've had is a kit that can spawn 64/each color of a block
*Including base color*
Usable once per day (So 24 hr cooldown)
Some of the varied Kits I was thinking
Wool
Glass
Terracotta
Glazed Terracotta
I was suggesting this for blocks that are hard to obtain and users do not actively farm for. Blocks that users will use to help ECC become even more beautiful.
OK, so a-lot of these are going to be a good addition to ECC because the lack of a real Market for them (In bulk quantities).Other information:
In the main/mainnorth worlds Things like Sheep Farms cause unnecessary amounts of server lag. A kit like this would help to remove server lag caused by sheep farms.
By adding these kits Yes, the prices of these items will drastically change.
HOWEVER
I believe this overall will end in a Net Benefit to these blocks in terms of their prices for buying and selling aswell as causing a stable market for these blocks to emerge.
Right now there isn't enough of these blocks on the market to realistically promote buildings that use them.Plugin or custom addition:
Users will not go to 50 different market shops to just get a single inventory of these blocks.
I see this as essentially a reskin of the mod we're currently using for things like Kit Anvil / Compass / Water / Lava to give out blocks to the player. One suggestion per form:
I Understand.

+1. Right now, building with colored materials like wool is incredibly hard. If I had tried to make my major projects on archive with such a small access to colored blocks, they would never have happened.
-
+1 made many suggestions to try to get more wool since it somehow became one of the most expensive “common building block”

I mean, it's not the worst idea. I'm not a builder. It has a lot of variables that could be considered, which complicates it a little further. For example, is it worth potentially killing a potentially lucrative market (if the blocks are as rare as you claim) in order to give a "pay2win" service to players willing to pay for it?
As I was saying about the variables, however, it could be improved. For those who are truly desperate for blocks, putting them all in one massive kit for like $100 would ensure that the markets aren't killed (as much) for only the dedicated builders would actually buy it, and I assume they would keep most of the blocks as a result of their desire to build.
Cooldown is up for debate as well a bit, because a day cooldown is too long, but I think an hour is too soon, and then you also need to consider how many of each block you get when you utilize said kit.
I think it's an alright idea, but it has a lot of variables and is really up for debate when it comes to... everything. -

+1 would be like the color kit on sb and maybe like have different levels like + and ++ to get additions block times (glass, wool ,etc...) but would need a good cooldown so it isnt abused

@KoKo that'd be interesting. First Kits like 16? than Plus would be 32.
Maybe even like Each + gives you added blocks. -
$20 seems like a good alternative if you are suggesting 64 of each color type. That would make it so that with a sale the price is not ludicrous.. but also it is more exclusive since not everybody will buy it willy-nilly.
$10 would destroy the player market that exists... even though theres not much of one right now due to the insane demand and extremely low supply. The cheapest in-stock wool on the main central market is $4 per block at station 9. A $10 feature giving one stack of every color every 24 hours would just destroy it and make colored blocks probably near worthless in a few months. $10 with a sale would make it $7.50 each... plus an "ilovedonkeys22" coupon would take 22% off of the $7.50... users would buy every kit for dirt cheap.
I am in support of this suggestion as the supply for wool/colored blocks is extremely extremely limited right now. I just believe that the price is set way too cheap in the suggestion or the cooldown is way too fast. I believe that there are ways to make this suggestion work. I also believe that it is overall beneficial for the server so I would hate to see this suggestion shot down. -
+1 As a shop Owner It is very difficult to collect wool, and whenever I stock up I am sold out within the Day. One thing I would say is 64 Blocks per Color might be too much, I would suggest doing 16 blocks as to not be overkill, but this would definitely help out with big builds.

Yes. Mob restrictions, combined with the draconian butcher rules on the server, massively repress the possibility of any form of kit for creative building on the server. Furthermore, the very fact that the server shop owners on this server are advertising that they want something like this to exists proves that stuff such as this is a virtual necessity towards the improvement of the server and appearance.

I down for adding the kits due to mob restrictions and preventing lag. +1

I have mixed feelings about this one. As a shop owner who focuses on coloured blocks (wool, concrete, & terracotta) this would impact my business significantly. My shop has the cheapest wool on the server (afaik) at $5-$7 per block (depending on the color/popularity) which I don't consider to be that ridiculous, considering the demand. I tend to keep them stocked at all times with the exception of light grey, grey, black, and white, which are the top sellers at my shop. Even with that, they are generally restocked same-day. I don't really see the need for this, especially for colourful wool. Maybe if it were just white (by far the most popular to build with imo) I would be on board.
Also, regarding the lag, I personally don't experience any when I am in my sheep farm. -
I have a habit of writing quite a lot of waffle, so I will attempt to keep this short by just adding a few thoughts of my own.
I believe that to have these kits added could decrease the price to a point where colorshops are quite possibly no longer needed, or profitable. However, having talked with wolvie, and after reading aj's reply, it would seem that wool is the more difficult item to obtain as sheep are close to non-existent (yes concrete is also a pain, but with /soak, or whatever it is, it's not that bad). Dyes, I do not feel are that difficult to obtain.
Furthermore /kit mobs, I can only assume, was introduced because mobs are so rare. Even then, the items are rather valuable as I have learned through selling builders $2k slime blocks. Rare...like wool, which also happens to be a mob drop.
Therefore, in short, my suggestion is to add a number of white wool blocks to /kit mobs because it just literally makes sense.-

+1 This would prevent a fair bit of lag from sheep farms as well as add a lot more coloured wool and glass etc to the market.

Honestly I farm wool, and chundi's is one of the shops I supply (she keeps me sold out), and as for concrete same thing, but I sell it for lower than most shops if you are buying qtys > 1 dbl chest. If you need it make sure you are checking the shops, or mail me for a quote.
There reason the prices have gone up on wool is the block shop prices, and people quit farming sheep in mining.
As for paying for them... You can buy exp for USD already and then buy color blocks for nstars so no need to make a kit there. Concrete is readily available, and I am working on Terra. It's not easy to get, but what fun is easy and cheap on an econ server?

Finished reading everyone’s mixed opinions above.
I understand some of you want easier to get color blocks. And as much money as this would likely generate for ECC’s pocket, it just doesn’t feel like the right way to go about it. It would destroy a big part of our current economy.
I understand you are used to the previous archive style color building, and I’m sorry the new Main doesn’t achieve the same level of satisfaction for you.
However, as said, this just ain’t the way.
When I’m back from my vacation I’ll do some brainstorming and see what I can do with the color shop. Perhaps offer a few more blocks per nether star, etc.-
