    /salvage for extcommands+2 or standalone
    What are you suggesting:
    I was thinking, it might be a nice feature to allow the salvaging of items that are no longer useful, like when a player makes diamond armor, and has no more use for his/her iron armor, they could /salvage <hand, all> or even the material type they want to salvage... from an item in their hand/inventory. Of course /salvage could be broken down into it's own feature with the normal version giving back say, 33%-50% of material used, with a + version of 75%-100, or even added to extcommands+2 for like 50% refunds on material. Also useful for those times one accidently crafts 10 diamond swords instead of 1 -.-
    Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:
    I feel this is a good addition to ECC, because it will help newer players retain resources a bit easier. It would give Nether users another perk when they find all those ''useless'' gold chestplates :p
    Other information:
    I would assume this would only work for iron, gold, and diamond tools/armor. No need for it to work with everything in MC.

    I'm pretty sure salvaging is part of Mcmmo as well as repair using gold and iron blocks iirc

    Did they not remove the mcmmo repair functions in this server though? If that's the case, the probably also removed the salvage feature with mcmmo.

    Yes, both salvage and repair from gold and iron blocks were removed but I am not entirely sure as to why.

    Instead of Salvage,
    Andrew made it so that you can smelt stuff in furnaces to receive something from the gold and iron armor.
    Leather Armor has no way of salvaging currently.

    this is true, however when i smelted a pair of iron legs, i only got back a single iron nugget. (this requires more testing to see how consistant that is)

    However, much like smelting is something in 'vanilla' MC, we have /smelt to save time, etc. This was my thought process behind /salvage :) and to possibly get a better return than 1/9th of 1/7th of a pair of legs :p



    Edit: just tested it on another pair of legs, and boots... Results: a single iron nugget each.

    Yeah, iron and gold armor, iirc can be smelted for an nugget. I haven't seen anymore than one however.

    34 iron ingots make up a full set of iron armor, a pick, an axe, a sword, and a hoe. With the current iron price being 9$/ingot, /kit starter would be valued at $337.25

    iirc, salvage can range from one ingot to one less than the max (or can be tweaked to be this way). Regardless, this is a good point with our current starter kit.

    Nonetheless, /kit starter can be changed to be leather armor (I don’t mind ruining the leather market if that means having salvage). The tools can stay iron because the max you can get from them is 7-12 ingots (which is one and a half average size iron veins per day).

    TL;DR +1 salvage needs to be in ECC!

    you get 1 nugget per item in it's current form. so that price is incorrect :p EDIT: [nvm i see you mean if we added salvage] but again, you can mod it however you need, or even change starter to stone. Honestly even iron is a bit generous.
