Denied [Main City Server Suggestion] Give a global announcement for star shop

+1 Not sure how easy/difficult to do, but would be a cool addition

 

+1, should just be like when a user wins something cool from the starcasino

 

+1 Because it would be cool to announce to everyone else that you were finally able to get a star tool. but on the other hand,
-1 Because some people don't like letting people know they have one because then the influx of messages asking to rent it out could become annoying

I personally like the idea, just trying to point out the possible negative.

We don't need more server broadcasts.

 

Then maybe get rid of some useless announcements like for the egg shop. Saying "We don't need more server broadcasts." isn't very helpful. This is one of the biggest achievements on the server and it would be fitting if it had an announcement. Some of the announcements we have right now are probably not necessary.

 

I'm not trying to be helpful. Even if we had less server-wide broadcasts, we still don't need more.

Like really, if you want an unignorable message telling everyone you just bought a star tool, use a /shout. I assume if you're buying a million dollar tool you can spare an additional one thousandth the cost. This also affords people the luxury of not advertising the fact they're buying tools.

I just don't see who a change benefits here apart from vain cheapskates.

There's no need to force something public that some would like private.
Use /shout.
