Main City ServerShort title for your suggestion:
Enable Drowned Trident Drop ChanceWhat are you suggesting:
Natively, drowned have a very small chance (about 4%) to drop a trident when killed, increased slightly with looting. In vanilla minecraft, drowned created from converted zombies also have this chance, but as far as I can tell it is disabled on the server. (I have been farming them for hours with no luck) Even if the percentage is lowered to something like 0.5%, I feel like the drop should be enabled. Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:
Tridents are very rare right now and as a result are also very expensive. Because this isn't a PvP server, they don't actually provide much use as anything more than an economic stimulus. Mob farming is a relatively slow way to get money unless you find a good double spawner setup, so this may make it more worthwhile. The cost of tridents also would eventually decrease as they become less rare and this would make the drop rate to $$ conversion much more fair as well.Other information:
The wiki page on the Drowned: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/DrownedPlugin or custom addition:
Under drops, you can see the percentage of trident drops.
I believe this may be able to be done natively through minecraft configs, otherwise it might be possible to add it with mcmmo. One suggestion per form:
I Understand.

The 4% number is incorrect - it's based on the bedrock edition, not the java edition.
For the java edition, there are two chances for a trident. First, a drowned will only spawn with a trident 15% of the time. Then, when the drowned is killed, it has an 8.5% chance (add 1% for each level of looting) of dropping its held item.
In practice this means it's roughly 1%. This also only applies to naturally spawned drowneds. Ones converted from zombies will not drop tridents.
Also I'm pretty sure I set it to 1% from mcmmos "shake" skill on a drowned. -

Got mine from a first random encounter with a drowned. Just gotta look for ruins that haven't been looted that have them spawned and hope one has a trident.

Yes, naturally spawned drowned still have the chance to drop them.
Specifically I mean converted drowned, spawned from zombie spawner into a pool of water. As far as I can tell there is a 0% chance of them dropping one, because the regular zombies cannot spawn holding a trident before they are converted into drowned. -
Yes, that's accurate. That's not a server setting though... That's just minecraft. Your suggestion is incorrect as this chance doesn't exist natively in vanilla minecraft.
If you want to pull a trident off a converted zombie then use mcmmo shake which should still give the chance. -

Okay, I'll give it a shot. Thank you!

@EtherealSquid
turns out I'm wrong and was thinking of nautilus shells at 1% from drowned on mcmmo, I left the only way to get tridents as from natural drowned.
If you'd like it added to droned I would make a new suggestion clearly specifying that (or edit this one to be clearer on that). -

I'll create a new thread that is more specific. Thanks!
