So we were haunted by phantom barking in what is now the new-ish town of Eastcaster, which is located east of the main town of Lancaster. Turns out it was someone's pet dog, which glitched into some dirt blocks next to our city hall. He won't interact with any of us, because we're not you, apparently. Whoever you are.



Anyone lose a dog near there? Want to claim him? We'll hang on to him for you. He's locked in the first stall on the right in the Eastcaster stables. Contact me in-game to retrieve him.

X: 14226, Y: 96, Z: 9607, Rising world, town of Eastcaster -- that's where we found him. Eastcaster only became a town in the last month or so, though, so it was just wild land before that. He was sort of glitched/buried down into dirt blocks, though, so we reported him as a ghost and requested an exorcism. We had to dig the blocks out to find him, and then shove him halfway across the town to get him into that stable. We're not motivated to get rid of him or anything.... just wanted to put it out there in case he belongs to someone who wants him back.

 

The puppy is indeed @jakeyray18's. Apologies to anyone who wanted a little lost dog. At some point we'll be turning him over to Jakey and our dog-napping industry will be wrapped up.

 

So, if custom entities like pets are causing crashes ... would you like to come retrieve your custom-entity pet, or should we just avoid him until the server updates? He is off in a little-used corner of the city, we could just avoid him. @jakeyray18

And incidentally ... first this dog was a barking ghost dog ... then we found that he lived inside dirt blocks that we had to dig out ... then we had to build waterfalls down a mountainside to get him out of there ... then he escaped from what we thought was a secure holding area ... and now he's causing the game to crash if you come near him ...

Those of you who wanted to adopt this dog.... be careful what you wish for! This is the Typhoid Mary of Minecraft pets. :)

 

I only connected the two because the day I tp'd Jakey to check out the dog, I crashed right when he tp'd to me, then three or four more times trying to log back in.
