the looping thing I would like, but the new discs wont happen.

I won 2 rare musicdiscs in a competition and there are 6 music discs in total.
The point of them not being regularly obtainable is so that they are rare and worth a lot.

Adding a single plugin just to have looping music seems kinda pointless... But I do like the idea.

More discs won't happen. They are some of the rarest items on the server, only being given out for rare server contests. Like, the big ones Andrewkm holds and announces on the forum.

 

I like the looping idea. If looping isn't possible using redstone and a pressure plate would be awesome too.

 

I personally love the idea. Having to reactivate my jukeboxes often is annoying since I hide my jukeboxes underground.
I have a town that has a theme and the music helps set the ambiance.

As for the making discs available to the general public, that's an even better idea! I recently made a post about it in the price suggestion forums but I don't think that area gets as much traffic as this Suggestion forum.
My idea served two purposes, making disc available to the public through a Server store at really really high prices and giving the server an additional way of dumping out excess money from players helping out our economy!

Lots of players have voiced different opinions on the the subject the major one being:
It shouldn't happen, they're intended to be the rarest items on the server and should only obtained in the aether competition and similar events.

Personally I disagree. While they should be rare and expensive, they should be available to all not a select few. Dumping money out of the server benefits all, and in my opinion trumps over an individuals players pride. Keep rare disks as a prize but also make an alternative.
With cactus gone, pistons disabled, huge animal farms /butchered, TNT limited to nether only, etc... I feel we shouldn't limit something that isn't game breaking when we are limited in many other areas.

[Important!! I fully understand why these limitations have been implemented and the bugs and problems they would cause to server stability and economy inflation! I am not asking for any to be turned on or be considered! While they are turned off, and for GOOD REASON, we are unfortunately still limited. Don't twist my words and make this the topic, ty!]

I know there will be people that continue the "Omg Discs are for Aether only!!1!" counter argument so here's my take on that.
Aether Competitions is a fun event that allows players to display huge amounts of talent in creation. Players then vote on their favorite and the winner is awarded really cool things.
Sadly it doesn't work this way. In the past, players would buy other player votes and create unfair advantages. Thankfully Andrew has put a stop to that so I won't get into that as it's no longer allowed.
Aether Competition today is a massive popularity contest! Aether Competitions contestants spend a majority of their time individually messaging players to sway their votes in their favor. I've received many private messages from different contestants. I've seen players flame each other and get upset at others that didn't vote for them in general chat. "Wow I thought they were on my side, apparently not," comments from players that share the same friends. Even the great Super Mod Sios (who I have huge respect for and apologize for using him in this! Don't be mad sorry!) decided not to vote at one point because it plain ol' got ugly. Is it surprising that the 2 players I saw making the most drama about the competition in general chat won 1st and 2nd place?

Aether Competiton also awards ECC gift cards that I assume can be used on donation features in addition to rare Music Discs!

Summary: Keep Rare Music disks rare! Charge a lot of money for them! Make earning them still worth it! Make buying them in a limited supply each month at server store if necessary! (ty Moofink) But please consider that over a thousand players play on this server and we shouldn't be limited in what we can obtain because 5 players have a rare disc! (lol I said 5 jokingly but I wouldn't be surprised if it was around that or less considering people with discs might have quit or have been banned.)
