I think the dream is closer than some people make it to be. I think you should still strive for it. Some reasons I think it is closer than the numbers given show: While you are getting/fortuning diamonds you will be getting XP and can sell that XP for money to buy further diamonds in bulk, thus decreasing the time needed. Some of the numbers are based on 15k/hr, which you, yourself, have shown to be a low figure for yourself. Since you can make more, faster, then you should be able to complete the job faster. These are just two quick examples. Just the fact that you are doing this, will inspire people to help, and while the numbers right now don't seem to show that it will be feasible, who knows what the future may bring. Maybe there are others who share a similar dream who have already stored massive blocks (*cough* onscene/harry), who may join in your venture once you show determination to go through with it. Maybe in a future release of minecraft, having enough coal packed together will produce diamonds. Personally, if you had told me that I would have $500+ in donation features without spending a penny, I would have laughed at you and called you insane. Now, one step at a time, I have done what I originally thought was highly unlikely. Maybe andrew will, one day, have a lottey for 1 million diamonds. <-(hyperbole) My point is that we don't know the future, and I think that having a long term goal is healthy. Go for it, for your dreams may be closer than you think.
Thanks for the encouragement! Everything besides "EcoLegend" is pretty much long-term goals that I'm not even thinking about yet. Even now I'm selling everything (including diamonds) so I hope I'll have fun with my other goals after finishing this one!
When I become ecomaster I will get you this "diamond city" also you should check out my staff app and I'll help you do it XF -dpatt888
Save up to buy a premium spawnshop. If you have even half of the success of usernameofdeath, it would increase your income dramatically. Also, use the 10+ town goal to form a nation and have comayors that sell plots. This would be another form of passive income. If you wanted to do loans successfully, or renting out star tools, this would also help. There is literally so much more you can do to make money than just mining for your allotted 15k per hour.
I'm doing 20-25k/hour though... The issue with spawn shops is that it'll eat out 20k/month and I'll have to maintain it. I spend literally all my time mining to maximize all profit. If I wasn't playing ~10 hours per day usually, then I would get a spawn shop. Basically the reason I don't own a spawn shop is the issue of time.
