-1 for two reasons:
1: It's way, way too easy to install a chestfinder or something to find it easily.
2: If you do find it legit, there's no risk involved, you just got really lucky and now have 1m+ assuming there are star tools in the chest. If all they put in the chest are minerals and gems it's a waste of time as you could just go mining as normal to get those things and get mining exp at the same time.

 

I remember this happening once or twice. Definitely wouldn't put star tools or anything but maybe like a couple stacks of dblocks (~50k).

Also would like more 'rich' chests in nether and, in time, end. Actually foster a little bit of PvP anyway.

 

Star tools, no. But some nstars, diamond blocks, maybe spawn eggs would be cool +.5

Star tools are meant as a bonus for experienced players who have put a lot of time into ECC. Having a builder be able to /wild land and finding a star tool defeats the purpose.

+1 to diamond blocks, nstars, spawn eggs, etc. Would be really fun.

 

+ 1 let's just buff the heck out of naturally spawning chests.

 

Back when the mining world was implemented I would do scavengers hunts; of course, I was like 16 so I wasn't very good at it.

The chests don't need to contain really valuable goodies, just maybe 10k worth of stuff at most. People will go looking for them even when it isn't very valuable. (if anything, making it too valuable invites cheaters)

 

Anyway gonna look into doing this with the next mining reset.

No, that makes this 10x more of a hassle than this needs to be. Making a medal for finding a little tiny prize is just ridiculous, if you want a medal we have 30 different medals for accomplishing things and another 17 just for feature amounts... go buy exp or something.

 

Could have redeemable event tokens too,
If people dont post and redeem em, doesnt matter, if they do, then no massive hassle.

How common will the chest spawn?
Like a chest for every 4*4 chunks?

 

If @Server Admin 's would like to do this, as long as the chest value isn't over 20k that's fine.
