Hey mods, readers, ECC fellow citizens. I just hit a stroke of bad luck and died while mining. I had my pumpkin axe and maxpick on me, both /own ed, but died in lava. I believe that can't be fixed, but what I am really here to ask about is the pumpkin axe I just bought. I don't remember who I bought it from, because of course I wouldn't just write his name down. I promised to mail him this forum link, but that is kinda impossible without his username. Anyways, I bought the pumpkin axe for 12k, he drops it, and POOF it's gone. This is kinda useless without his username, but I swear I will find it asap. What in the **** can I do?
EDIT: I bought it from cartoonr, I believe.

The tool is gone forever. Sorry about that.
What's behind this is a vanilla bug, known to ECC users as "butcher". Butcher normally refers to clearing of animals in the mining world to reduce lag, but your case is a vanilla bug.
Mojang hasn't fixed it in many updates because they don't give a hoot about major bugs.
Anyway, consider yourself lucky. I've heard horror stories of star tools being lost to butcher. Use a chest to transfer all items. -
