I've never seen anyone in the nether except for near the portal. For a time, I even ran a bulk quartz selling business and spent a lot of time in the nether. Once you get inside, just set a home far from the portal and you'll be pretty safe from other players.
Yeah, I agree! And I've seen what you've made with quartz, Jikkzz (and bought a lot from you at some point), pretty amazing
I hate the nether. I recently bought it, thinking that it was worth it. For the last four days, every time I go in I get killed by random players. People keep saying it sparsely populated but that is a lie. Waste of 20k. I suggest you not buy it unless you're willing to lose loads of goods each time you go in.
What you'll need is pyro+ and a "God" pick (efficiency 5/4, Fortune 3, Unbreaking 3). If you have 2 things you're all set.
ClearCare I'm sorry to hear your experience in the nether hasn't been good so far. But I can explain why: the nether was just reset so the first week (after the reset) will be the most busy one with players going in to gather quartz and many others waiting close to spawn to kill those players. I suggest you do what I said in my "guide". As soon as you can, gather nether racks and build upwards so you can break through the roof until you reach the bedrock above. Then mine your way out from there and get away from spawn. That's the safest way to go. Send me a PM in the forums if you need further help. evilring I hadn't heard of that pick being called that before (a "God" pick). I do have it though haha I use eff5/fort3/unbr3. Thanks for the contribution btw! =)
I go in the Nether quite a lot and have never seen another player haha, maybe I'm just lucky so far, I don't know, but for me it's 100% worth it. I just made the mistake of falling into lava, and attacking a zombie pigman when he had his buddies around. PS I died. Nether is fun! You'll need torches though lots of torches because it is so so dark unless you are near lava.
chanimeryl I suggest you increase your screen's brightness and if that's not enough then you could try different screen settings. I got a mac so I don't know how to do it on a Windows if that's your case but you'll get what I mean anyway: I go to System Preferences (something like Settings on an iPhone) and then to Displays. There are many options there to choose from on how I want my display (screen) to look: More bright, dark, blueish, black and white, etc. Try that! Because I've never had to use torches not even when I'm mining for diamonds. Let me know if you need help with this!
Coolslammer3 pyro+ gives you immunity to fire & lava damage. People find it useful in the nether because you don't need to worry at all about the fire and the lava found almost everywhere there. I don't have pyro+ and I'm not planning on getting it. But I can definitely see how pyro+ can help you. If you have pyro+ you don't need Fire Protection armor (even though I don't recommend that one, a lot of people prefer it over full Protection4). You can still get damage from falling though and from other players but pyro plus gives you the liberty of walking without caring where you make the next step. I wouldn't get it (not even basic pyro) because personally I don't find a use for it in my personal projects or in the way I do stuff (specially in the nether). For me it's a waste of money that I could use in another donation. I just need to be a little more careful not to step into fire while in the nether (which you can extinguish by clicking on it) and I don't really care about lava with the armor set up I put in my original post. Hope this helps! If you have more questions please let me know!
I guess you could but that be spending (either money or resources) each time you need one (I don't even know how long those things last), while a good armor will last you several trips to the nether before needing repair. Coolslammer3
RailefBear to change brightness on a windows, go to .minecraft, find you options.txt, and change the GAMMA setting from 1.0 to 100.0. Then click save and reopen the minecraft launcher and your good! Now my experience in the nether, was nice. At first i always went with zorracraft. Never saw anybody, still don't. Nether is worth the 20k.. in 1 month of minin there i have already gained... leik 100k It is worth da 20k
