In-Real Life Scavenger Hunt -December 19th - 26th

Might be the German in me, but I definitely don't think this is a widespread thing. It might be the cold, but I can never drink light beer in the winter. My family and friends tend to try a lot of different IPAs and darker beers during christmas/holidays/winter. The regular is definitely Yuengling but we tend to try tons of different things.

 

So... ik time has passed, but since it hasn't ended yet (I think?) I figured I'd put down my entry. If it doesn't count cuz it's past time, eh idc. Showing off Christmas decorations is always fun.

Our Christmas Display comes with a unique palm tree - cuz southern girllll.



Also, more unique, we hang a Moravian star up every Christmas. It's more popular in Germany, but my family lived in a German influenced city for a while and picked up the tradition :3

The Star is my favorite Christmas decoration because it is placed at the top of the tree. Christmas trees don’t look complete without that ornament at the top. The star creates unity with the tree. The Star is important to Christmas because it is celebrated as the day Jesus was born, and the star of Bethlehem brought the 3 wise men to Jesus.

Gift boxes are also one of my favorite decorations because my favorite part about Christmas is the presents, and these gift box ornaments makes me excited for all the presents to come

 

This is by far my favorite christmas tree ornament! It is a Blue Footed Booby, which is a rare bird found exclusively on the Galapagos Islands. These birds are known specifically for their blue webbed feet and distinct chirping! This is my favorite christmas tree decoration because not only am I very fond of birds, but I am also fond of traveling. This decoration symbolizes the first family vacation I went when I was about 13 years old at the time, as well as my first time leaving the country and being on an airplane (was my worst fear at the time xD). We got this decoration in the Galapagos Islands and brought it home with us. The meaning and memories that this decoration holds makes it by far my favorite decoration

 

Because a tool tree wouldn't be a tool tree without hanging a wrench.

 

I don't even have to think hard about this.... I feel like I've been talking about my mother with the last few themes, but she's such a part of my life, my Christmas, even though she's no longer here. These icicles frosted her tree for decades...a family friend made them for us and she cherished them every year she was alive. Both my mother and the family friend has long passed away, but these little icicles give tribute to them on Christmas. My dad gave them to me this year, so this is our first year with them. I'm not gonna lie, it made me cry.

 

I love angel ornaments. This is one of many hanging on my tree, though the others aren't quite as detailed as this one. No amazing sentimental value or anything, angels are just pretty and cool to me.

Also, this one isn't my particular favorite, but I couldn't find that one hanging ;-; My favorite is a small glass angel with a lyre and goldish accents. I guess I just like angel ornaments in general.

Lots of very beautiful and.. interesting decorations.
Everyone's decorations we're all amazing and unique to them in their own way.
These decorations really stood out in my mind which is why I chose them .
