why can't anybody give people chances these days?

 

I believe in second chances. Even third sometimes. But not four or five. If you haven't learned by then, you ain't gonna.

This is what I see on this thread, someone trying to be better and what do these people do to encourage him, they make fun of him laugh at him and post troll posts

Why are you guys doing this? Why are you all acting so immature?
Try to be nice and encourage him instead of making fun of him and over all acting like 5 year olds

Alright, this went off the deep end a bit here. Let's keep it civil, respectable, and not harass other users for your opinions. It's ok to tell Racc to prove his change as long as it's done in a civil manner. There is no reason to attack one another's personalities or opinions because you disagree.

 

I apologize for my churlish comment on this thread. I'll make sure to re-word it so I don't offend the people offending Raccooy.

You are all attacking Raccooy for requesting a clean slate and for you all to forget a toxic past and I guess it's too much to ask for that. This is not the community I saw. Actions do speak louder than words. But do yours? Do you all understand what this user is trying to say? I think you all can comprehend that, but what I don't think some of you all are seeing is that he is serious about it. It's a 50/50 no matter what way you're looking at it. He forgets it or lets it keep getting to him. It's disgusting to see how toxic replies to a toxic user who is fixing themselves can be. Glad to see there are a few users in the community like Builds and Smeefy that haven't lost their minds yet keeping their cool and patience. Just like SuburbSomeone, somebody I look up to a lot. I look up to Smeefy and Builds because they're always so nice. Even to Raccooy, a user who is known for flame baiting and they keep being friends with him helping him. That's who I see as true future leaders. These are the leaders of the future, people who can see the bad and move past it over to the good. A user on here even had the audacity after their staff application to come onto here with more posts. Can't believe some people have the guts to do that, and it's not even like they're doing it in a positive way. I could go on for days and days but I'm just going to attempt to wrap it up right here. If you have nothing good to say, why even say it? Degrade this community even more than what it already has been, as this user has admit they have and then they receive a response about how bad they've, overall together bringing this community down more than the user has all 3 years on their own... IT SICKENS ME that it's not just 1 user, it's several users putting in trolly/rude posts on here. Whether they attempt to put it in a professional manner or not it's still just the same thing, only in a slightly less-un appreciated post. When a community comes together like this to bring the community down, there is only so much staff and kind/genuine users can do to balance the community out. You are all digging a hole deeper and deeper for Raccooy is, but the problem is you're digging yourselves in so deep too I don't know if there's anybody left out there to help you out after all these comments. The ignorance of hatred towards this user honestly needs to stop. ECC used to be so fun and great, a few inappropriate comments every once in a while but it was slightly funny, it would be laughed of and people would begin to stop. Now users aren't learning and they aren't stopping. Instead of choosing the correct path they go off as their opportunity to jump onto the band wagon to one of the most hated users on ECC and harass him. I'm not trying to call out any staff in specific, but any staff who look at this and don't see what's wrong with some of these posts, don't warn them or say anything? Now that's what we need to replace on this server. Staff who still have the willpower and the audacity to keep going on this server fixing the harmful comments these users are posting. I understand my other long rant post like this one was deleted. And I can see why. The problem with that is they only completed so much of what they need to do. I'm hoping so badly that staff will come onto here and fix the rest to what they've started with me.

@Raccooy, although your history may have not always been the best over the years, I've also seen you be extraordinarily nice, and show a very compassionate side. I have much faith you can turn over a new leaf... regardless of what any others say. I wish you the best :)

I completely understand where you are coming from. People should give raccooy another chance, just as they should give everyone else another chance. But being honest, no one has said anything too ridiculous, hateful, or ignorant. Go back and read all the replies - prove it, potato, potato, prove it, prove it, etc. You say that users have the audacity to post degrading things about raccooy, when half of these "degrading" posts are telling him to prove it. Take my comment, for example. Not even 30 minutes after raccooy posted this thread, he had the *audacity* to call me a hacker. People should forgive others more often, I agree with that, but please understand that it is raccooy's responsibility to show and prove to us that he can change - not our responsibility to accept words that are often not backed up by actions.

With that being said, I have literally nothing against you raccooy. You, Ninjaboy, Creeperheat, Donkey, and I have had countless hours of fun playing SG together. What I said above applies for not only you, but everyone on this server. And seriously, you aren't what people portray you to be. I just think that you speak before you think sometimes. (and no hard feelings about you calling me a hacker countless times - git gud scrub)
