I believe i know what your problem is, if you are receiving the error I think you are anyway. Probably looks something along the lines of:

If this is the issue you are having it is caused by minecraft 1.7.4 and higher now requiring that your graphics card be able to support openGL 2.1 minimum. The typical cause of this error is that your graphics card does not support openGL 2.1 or greater.

A few people have reported that they have had some success fixing this issue by first making sure all of your graphics drivers are up to date and then attempting to run minecraft in compatibility mode for windows XP (Service Pack 3).

You can do this by just right clicking on your minecraft icon and going to properties, then on the compatibility tan check the box saying "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", and select windows XP (Servive pack 3).

If that does not work then I can offer you one more suggestion other then getting a new graphics card or a new computer (or making changes to your system32 folder which I would not recommend) and that would be to use a mod that a few people are saying have solved their issue with this error. The mod was literally designed to fix this error but has had many issues with not being compatible with things like forge and optifine.

The mod is called openGL fixer, I cannot promise this will fix the issue that you are having as I have not personally tested any of these methods as I have not had this issue. I have just done a bit of reading and research on the issue. You can find the mod here:

There is a link to a tutorial installation video a bit down the page if its needed. The mod is supposed to resolve the problem for graphics cards that support a minimum of openGL 1.4 but do not quite support openGL 2.1.

As I said before I have not tested any of these methods, these are just some methods that people have reported have worked in the past for them with this issue.

If I may, and you used one of these solutions, can I ask which one actually worked if any?
It may help anyone else who has this issue in the future.

 

Running in XP Compat mode is guaranteed to work, as it disables OpenGL 2.1.
Updating GPU drivers is likely to work, unless the gpu is too old.
You could create a mod to disable the twitch integration, but that's overkill imo.
