Everyones heard of excavation (i hope). But did you know the potential profit at high levels?

At level 25 ( takes breaking about 6-7k dirt blocks to acheive) there is a 5% chance that when You break a dirt block you will get a glowstone dust.
Good, but not profitable.

At level 75 ( takes breaking about 30k -40k dirts to ahceive i would say) you get a 10% chance of getting gunpowder from gravel. You may think "oh $5 / sell hand, thats ok."
Nooo, its waaayyy better than that!
Theres a recipee for $$$. You will need...
-1 sulfur(gunpowder)
-1 blaze powder(lots of people sell rods for $2-$6, which make 2 powder
-1 coal/charcoal (cheap)
This makes 3 fireballs that / sell hand for$6.50 ea! Thats a grand total of $19.50!
So after the cost of supplies, you are making approx $16 per sulfur ( so $1.60 for every gravel you break)

to all you haters out therer!! I found this out myself 3 months ago while training excavation to level mcmmo! I did not get this idea from zac, i told him! He made so much money off of it that he is now buying everyones gunpowder!
This is what i do for all My $$$. I hav a big 50x2x14 room that i use that makes a little over 2 stacks of sulfur (2k)
Now of course, you do hav to fill up the room, but it can be done for only about $500 for builders who want a job other than farming. Also, since gravel is occasionally converted to flint, you will sometimes have to go to shopbuild and buy some more. Flint can just be /sell handed.

Some additional information on this: @ lvl 175, you can be able to find bones in gravel to. These can be sold For a few extra dollars.

yes 90% of the time you dont get sulfur
But for the 10% of the time that you do you make $16 ea, so divide that by 10 and thats $1.60 /gravel broken :cool:

I must admit,, you can make more money farming, but excavating is still up their profit wise.
I get my coal @ $1.25/ea.
There is a sine in build 7 constantly restocking that sells blaze rods $1.25 ea
This is what i pay for my materials, so i make about $17.50 per sulfur
Also, it is easy to get quite fast at placing gravel, fast enough to not need to hire people anymore.
So id say u can make 10k an hour doing this with a regular d shovel.
Whether or not this is a lot to you im not sure. Its not a lot to everyone.

Say "i will excavate your city for free" in public chat
Make sure to be clear that you will not touch stone :p
