How to Make a Efficient Melon Farm! Works with pumpkins too Step One: First you will want to find the area you will want to put the farm in. I picked a wild random area! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Two: Dig out a 9x9 hole. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Three: Make a Border of what ever you want. I used Wooden Planks because I had alot (remember keep the inside 9x9 for maximum Efficiency) _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Four: Fill in almost half of the square with dirt. Make the empty part 5x9 and the filled in part 4x9 _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Five: Repeat on the other side so there is a 1x9 hole in the middle _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Six: Fill in the middle where there is block in the middle. (This step is optional if you don't mind using more water) _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Seven: Have someone fill in those empty blocks if you can't. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Eight: Cover up the water for easy travel (This step is optional) _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Nine: Hoe all the dirt within the border you made. (Now do you see why i made the border?) _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step Ten: Plant the Melon seeds Where the wooden Borders are. If you don't use bone meal, max efficiency (from planting seeds to seeds fully grown, then melons growing) would be with daylight. Torchlight and underground cuts growth rate by 50%. I don't know if that also applies to melon growth, but if it does, you'd be better off not doing it underground and stacked layers of farms. o.o
Your farm isn't the most efficient. It has an efficiency of 97.22% The following farm has an efficiency of 98.77% Its a very good tutorial, none the less.
