I sold donation features and gift cards to buy mayor and president. *Skips away* EDIT: Granted, that was with the money I earned working irl
HERES HOW TO MAKE MONEY QUICK! Mine and get like 6k. Buy perms to @dumdum71's Huzzah Farms. Get an axe and farm coca and pumpkins ect. Once enough money, buy maxed picks and pumpkin axes, then farm/mine some more!
Actually, that is a great farm to buy inexpensive perms to. So is @MSU_SPaRtAns321 with Ironview, @MAJOR_LENNIX if you can find him online for his farm, and @Inamine with that farm the name of which I forget next to Watercraft. All good places to make money.
The begging has been awful lately so I'm giving this a worthwhile bump. Here's to hoping we can encourage some good work ethic. Also for those who want to help spread the word, I made a tinyurl for this: http://tinyurl.com/lkkdw84
Well, here's how I got resident and mayor. At first when i joined, I was so lost. I didn't really know where to build, so I gone to the portal titled "Towns". I realized I couldn't build in those towns, so I googled ecocitycraft and gone to the wiki. After reading it for some time, I found out the commands and wild land. I first did /wild land and built myself a Wood house. Then I mined some with my kit starter stone pick axe. Soon I got enough money to buy myself a Diamond Pickaxe and after mining for some time, I got enough to buy a house in Luxemborg, a very cool town owned by @Avowin (Thanks @Avowin!) Soon I got enough to buy resident. After that, the next goal in mind was mayor; I even mined some more. Then I got 10k and bought a maxed fortune pickaxe, and made tons of money from mining. Later I bought Perms to HuzzahFarms from @dumdum71 (thanks, @dumdum71) and used to cocoa farm, and soon got enough for mayor. Thanks to all the people who helped acheive this! @Avowin - Selling me a house @oxwood2 and @nicit6 - Helping me familiarize with the server when I was a builder @hilv - Giving me my first co-mayor position when I was a resident @dumdum71 - Selling perms to me for HuzzahFarms
I've been around for quite a while now and although @jmichael214 didn't join back in 2012 like we did he definitely has the same attitude as a lot of the friendliest and greatest older players that I remember.
Heres my story, As a resident, my new main goal was to obtain mayor and create a town. I started to pumpkin farm and at one stage I was at 30k. It was feeling like forever and got boring, so I lottoed it. Sure enough, I lost all my money to an eco leader. I ended up leaving ECC for half a year or so doing other things. When I returned, first thing I did was turned the lotto messages off (/lot messages). From there I started pumpkin farming but I didn't like it at all. It got boring and wasn't my thing. So I came up with my own idea to create avatar images for players on the forums in exchange for a decent amount of ECD. I loved and still do creating 3D artwork for people and I got a lot out of it. It wasn't an easy job and usually required an hour or two to complete but I enjoyed it. After two weeks, I received Mayor. The main thing is to do something you enjoy to make ECD. If you don't like something, you will do it less often and probably progress slower. If you like pumpkin farming, go for it. If PVP is your thing, give SG a go. Love building? Be an architect and build for ECD. If you love mining, that makes some money too. If none of these interest you, introduce ECC to what you like doing. Along side your primary job, you can vote for nether stars which I manage to sell mine at the moment for 500. That's around 1.5k from clicking on a few buttons. Do what you love, put effort into your ECC passion and you will find success.
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I made a thread like this and I am hoping it will help all builders, new players, someone whos money and inventory was wiped, and every one else make some form of cash flow. Again i am sorry if this is considered Hijacking.
If you like mining and farming, by all means do that. If that is too boring, play some SG and buy a kit, then rank up... Whatever you do, however tempting, don't lotto
