    I would like to apply to become a mayor and simultaneously take over a town abandoned by a banned player. Should I apply using the normal mayor application process and alter the answers to reflect that I want to take the existing town, or is there some other method?

    As far as I know,

    Towns can only be claimed by users ranked Tycoon or higher. You would have to start your own town and rank up to Tycoon to get the town itself. The only other way I could see possible is to buy a town claim from a Tycoon+ and claim it that way, however, you will not be the "original" owner and cannot apply for the town features.

    Basically saying you cannot claim a town with your mayor rank, it has to be new.
