Just what the title says, for the survivor+ people out there, how much time are you spending in the nether? I probably spend about 1/8 of my in game time in the nether...I think with current quartz prices it's worth spending time there although I've never tried to keep track of how much I make "per hour" like people do with mining/farming. Besides I'd have to count the time fortunening the ore (I like the exp you get in mining world). I enjoy looking for nether fortress' and looting the chests, so I have lots of horse armor and saddles used up the name tags I've found (except one remaining and killed one of my named animals by accident) I also like blaze spawners so have a fair amount of blaze rods, but clearly quartz is the way to go currently if you're looking for money only. I've also found that zombie pigmen are GREAT to kill with a loot 3 sword as they drop gold nuggets a lot. Ghast are super rare, I've only seen one so far but if you get the ghast tear it's a nice bonus (I didn't get one even with loot 3 sword). How about the rest of the survivors?
Hmm. I used to go like 10 minutes a day, but recently I've been lacking nether time. Does anyone actually go to the Aether anymore?
I went to the nether, maybe, six times. It just isn't profitable enough for me. I'd rather mine for money and then buy any quartz I need.
I might go to the nether when I get macromod and use eek's panic spawn macro to automatically teleport to spawn whenever I take damage. Tada, safe from PVP. (Not sure if it's legal though)
ahh, thanks for the clarity on the /v ...I only went through the nether warp once and was TERRIFIED I was gonna get slaughtered because I didn't have fly or pyro+ so ran and ran and ran to the nearest wall and dug forever, when I found a fortress I /sethome and have never gone back to the main entrance so I don't fear PvP anymore, I'm lost in the nether somewhere and still have never seen another person.
Well I'm in every day to restock my trade sign with quartz as it gets emptied every day! Mind you, pyro+, fly+, /v and /nv do make it bearable. I don't remember ever meeting anyone in the nether except around spawn. Been zapped by a few ghasts and pesky blazes.
