It took me a month to get Resident from Builder. I didn't "race" to get it.

I only leveled up because I needed the LWC's. Same thing from Resident to Mayor.

I made about 3k a day or so and was proud of myself. I still make that now, well maybe a little more :rolleyes:.

 

I walked out a thousand or so blocks from one of the wooden warp portals at spawn and started mining with stone picks, if I saw any gems that I couldn't mine with a stone pick I used an elusive iron one. After I made a few thousand dollars that way I farmed pumpkins with an unb3 diamond axe in my 15x15 pumpkin farm.

 

I mined, fished, woodcut, and did just about everything. Got a free plot from bmanvman at Christmastime, then I became Resident. Little did I know SG actually made good momey at the time.... Saved so much time getting Mayor and Water. :)

 

Dont worry Star, I barely remember how I achieved resident aswell...

It may have been that 10x10 pumpkin farm I used..

I played so many hungergames till I had about 130k after I got resident

 

Once upon a time (over a year ago), I joined the server as a completely clueless builder. I read the tutorial but didn't understand it. At that point, I went into the wild (the mining world was resident+ and PVP at the time) and started a wheat farm at what was called 'Build 14'. There I wheat farmed while mining and fishing occasionally. I did that until I got $1,000. Then I moved into Randomville. In Randomville I made a 10+ story 10x10 skyscraper wheat farm. I farmed and mined until I got resident. Didn't take me too long and then I was a resident. :D

 

I joined and was so confused, I just read the rules and server commands over and over until I memorized the basics. I was payed a bit for replacing some seeds, farmed a little, and basically I just took ECC like a single player survival for a few days so I could get my tools and such this was one of the hardest survivals I had ever played, I could not find a friendly mob in the whole game, and I did not know about the starter kit, so I was constantly hungry. Looking back on ECC there was one crucial thing that kept me from quitting, a zombie spawner. Not set up, not double, just a plain old zombie spawner. This provided a source of food and a little bit of money, so I farmed zombies until I had around 3 stacks of rotten flesh to eat. I then found the glorious snowy dirt. I figured since I could sell both, I would make millions becoming a snow farmer, after the first hour I realized this was not the case. I then saw an intriguing aspect to ECC, the lottery! I bought my first ticket and I waited for the count down.. BOOM! I had just won $6,800! I then used this money to buy perms for a farm of wheat, which I farmed until I had 10k. Then I bought perms to an even larger farm, giga farms, and then farmed my way up to resident.

 

I pretty much mined my way up from a builder to a tycoon.

 

I was new to this server and I had found out that I couldn't place water. So, I found a lake at which I made a base. I then did a bunch of landscaping into the side of a hill to hide the lake and make it appear to be one bigger hill. I did all this just so I could have a base of operations and grow some wheat undisturbed. At the time I didn't even have my own account, I was using my son's account. Anyway vengfulbacon found me in the wilderness and helped me with a plot of land. I actually purchased resident, mining and aether with my son's account before I decided to just get my own account and that is how LordCwispy was born. I transferred my assets (land, equipment) to my new account and farmed wheat and vines to get resident.

 

Pumpkin farmed, you know, back when they were $2 each :p made the money for res in a single day

 

I got resident via other peoples money via the lottery;)

 

i.... made a hotel took me 20k. made me 1k -_-, then i farmed, worked hard, then made my way to the top in 1 week.

I mined for about 6 hours straight. I swear, I had finger cramps for days after that...

 

All I did was make a cocoa bean farm, then harvested it like crazy with my friend. It took us less than a week to get to resident, then once we were resident we just did lots of massive work for people and *poof* now we're mayors and i haven't even played for a month :)
