Denied Flint, Cactus, Stick, Sand and Gravel Price Change

    The reason I think gravel and flint are 0 is because you used to get gun powder from them and make a lot of money, but that caused lag due to the gravel monsters. I don't know why they made these blocks cost 0 even if players just mined them up and replaced them to level up their mcmmo, they don't place them, destroy them, sell their blocks, then buy more and repeat. That makes no sense to make the block cost 0, when you don't even sell the gravel, and you just re use it - especially after getting rid of the gun powder drop.

    Barring cactus as there's a discussion about turning it into a farmable crop, what's the point?

    It's not like these accomplish anything? These prices are negligible and really make no difference. I'm not a fan of changing things just because things can be changed.

    I like things to have a value...
    The fact they were valued at $0 because of a reason which seems to not exist anymore.
    Why not change it?
    Lots of people im sure would like a price on Sand, Gravel and Flint because you do come across them from time to time when you are mining, excavating.
    And it would be nice to get something for these blocks.

    If the reason for not changing it is because 'whats the point or because no one really cares', you could look at the people who have +1 this suggestion which might suggestion some if not more people care then you think...

    You can already do the same with /lb tb -> /sell ice, making even more as ice is 0.05 per. But I kind of recall of it being explicitly forbidden in the rules, if I'm not wrong

    What bonuses do gravel/sand monsters give you?
    They removed the mcmmo drops from them because that's why people made gravel monsters
    With mcmmo disabled for these blocks, they can actually have a price now.
    Read that topic and you'll see the arguments that weren't actually countered by the staff team which led them simply closing it rather then actually reading it, like you just did :p

    Let's not mix the price of gravel/sand and the price of their drops: if you monster gravel/sand, what you earn depends on the price of drops, not on the price of gravel/sand itself!
    Gravel/sand monsters have nothing to do with gravel/sand price: monstering gravel/sand and /sell-ing gravel/sand are two completely different and orthogonal ways of making money.
    If non-zero price for gravel/sand was to have any effect on monsters at all, it would make them less common, because the more gravel/sand people /sell, the less is available for monsters. Arguing that prices were disabled because of monsters doesn't make the slightest sense at all.
    And, in any case, the very fact that gravel/sand drops were disabled makes monsters totally pointless, regardless of the prices of their drops, even more so the price of gravel/sand itself. Monsters are already pointless because, being gravel/sand drops disabled, they just don't work, regardless of any price.

    TL;DR: having a non-zero price would not boost monsters at all, on the contrary: if it had any effect, it would have a (slight) negative effect on them.

    Fine, I'll type this up.

    Personally I couldn't care less either way (figuratively). It isn't enough money to make me care enough. I have +1 the idea of making gravel/sand $0.05 before in other threads. I get the arguments. I -1'd it this time because I don't get the reasoning why it makes such a difference.

    It was removed, asked to be implemented, denied, asked again, denied, asked again, ignored, asked again... ad nauseam.

    I supported it previously. But since those that make these decisions have spoken, I am taking the position that they know what they are doing and have good reasons. It isn't worth it to me.

    It is only my opinion, nothing against the people or the ideas (which is why I didn't put my reasoning down at first).

    ...Now that I am thinking about it further. I think my -1 was for the suggestion coming up again more than the substance of it. Sorry.

    I understand this reasoning, and it makes some sense. But if that is the case, then I guess those who made the decision could just tell us the true reason behind it. Because, if that (monsters) is the sole reason, than it's a void reason and therefore they should probably reconsider the decision.
