ok i give you that then i dont know much but i still think if mojang tried they could make it so and just have offial mods you could quote load in menu sorta like what CS and other games do
This is what they're doing with the modAPI, though an API can never be perfect and some mods would still need to access/edit minecraft basecode, like optifine for example.
ok would be good just sucks that people use mods to gain a advantage over those that dont know what i mean
Yep, what kuke says is mostly true. It would be fairly easy for Mojang to make a "does this user have any mods at all" check to minecraft, something that has been done by lots of games in the past. This would be much harder with Java, since it would be easy to mod that check, and make it report wrongly. He is also correct, that there would be no way to differentiate between mods. While the check would know some mod edited a file, it wouldn't know which mod did it. The mod api that is coming soon, should allow legit mods to run, and also allow the server to limit which legit mods are running, this would make it easier to detect non-legit mods with the above check.
awesome thanks hobbits and kuke for enlightening me i should go learn java add it to the rest of my already growing programming langs lol
Back to price discussion. I don't mean to mb rude, but most people who want fish prices to be raised are autofishers. Also, whatever, lowere fish prices are a good idea.. If a way to make money can be abused, then the price should be lowered! Like kuke said, when the mod api comes out, people with Nodus and other autofishing mods will be disallowed, and the price will be raised again! jasoni12, just be patient. Also, let's keep this thread on-topic, shall we?
As the one of the sole people who doesn't care about the price of fish but fishes anyway, if the prices are raised even a bit the autofishers will come back almost immediately. Why you ask? Well, let me tell you sir; you see people are lazy and like money. Autofishing allows them to be lazy and get money, which is perfect for them, because they're lazy but it kills any real desire to fish for majority of people(this is good for me). So for the sake of the economy not becoming a haven for the lazy, fish must stay low so the auto-x people aren't tempted. (They already ruined Runescape >_>)
It doesnt matter how much fish you get. What matters is how much money you get.So it should be raised.
Mod api is likely to not come out because the people that make it are terrible at coding as Netsui has told me. So fish need to be raised and we need to no depend on a program thats not going to come out.
That's not quite what I said and would ask you not to twist my words as such. What I said that the ModAPI would take a while to come out because Mojang are the ones making it.
This thread is getting annoying. NOTHING is going to happen until there is a way to disallow autofishing mods. It's already been addressed multiple times, so there is no real point to this thread.
I know I've commented on this thread before, but I've changed my mind now. -1. I do autofish regularly, just not afk. It's some pretty easy money, considering the fact that you basically don't do anything. I'm cool with the price of fish being between $7.50 and $15. EDIT: If you guys want me to do another test (like the one in this post http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/the-best-level-to-mine-on-tested.31285/page-2#post-164170 or this http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/pricing-suggestion-gold-ingots.35925/#post-164038), then give this post a like.
-1 I hate the fact that people can make money with no work, I don't like voting cause it brings "free" money into the economy. I agree that it does make money making harder but there are still ways to make decent money. I tend to pumpkin farm, with speed potions, making 12k and hour. I also mine making me 5k per hour (cause farming gets boring). The fact that fish is lowered I believe is the right thing to do. IF you choose to reply to me, please give your reasons for saying what you say, I dislike people who simply say "it is wrong" or other random comments with no reasoning.
