I personally never said auto-fishers were the biggest problem in ECC, neither did anyone else but auto-fishers are the reason for fish being lowered. Fish are unlikely to get a rise especially in the current situation, andrewkm even said so himself. I also find you only real point for having them risen is you think there is no other ways of making money but there are plenty of ways to make lots of money.
I think he is making the argument that the economy needs more ways to make money, to provide diversity
I love how you say the normal $50, fish were only raised to $50 a few months back they always used to be $5(I think) and everything was good, Compared to mining and farming fishing always made less any way i could only get 4-5k a hour fishing even at $50, I dont see the need to raise fishing so -1
Too prove my point that mining isn't the best way to make money and why fish prices should go up. I mined for 2 hours and came up with this People are going to tell me "You just have to be good at it. Well you cant be good at mining it's just pure luck and I know someone is going to tell me it's not when it is. I made 2k after e-repairs and I could of made 6k if fish prices went back up. Theres no reason you should be against it. It's not like if fish prices go back up that its gonna charge you or nothing. So keep your options open
After reading through the thread here are my opinions. Auto fishing should not be raised back up to $50. Some of the reasons are, Afk-Autofishing will become common again and can be very time-consuming to check if someone is when a lot of people are fishing. Secondly, I myself do not think that a fish should be worth more to the server than a diamond, and you cannot raise the price server buys diamond to 50 without causing a massive price flux for diamonds. Thirdly, fish costs very little to profit from, diamonds you need to find in the ground, farming you need to have a farm and maintain it, while fishing you only need a natural ocean or a fishing table. Maybe a small increase is needed, to $15, $20 at the most, but not back to $50.
And people are saying "I don't see the need to raise fish prices" thats because it doesn't effect you. There should be more than 2 ways to earn money quick.
Raising fishes are gonna ruin the economy. It doesnt need to go too high. There are other ways to make money other than fishing. If you really want to make money, get an autofishing mod. I stopped fishing when it lowered but that doesnt mean you cant do something else like farm, build, lottery, run a shop, or do jobs. Considering you have TP, do TPs for those who need it
I can make 12-15k a hour mining, and in 2 hours you found no diamonds? Go use a eff V unb III fort III pickaxe, then come back to me.
Just because you can't find diamonds or emeralds or just got "unlucky" doesn't mean we won't. There are many things you need to keep in mind like your tools. If you're using diamond tools with no enchants, of course you won't get as much money as others. It would be best if you used a silktouch1eff4unb3 pickaxe at least to mine stone and ores with. The stone can be used for town projects and save you money rather than selling your stone to server and buying from the spawn build shop when you need it. Also, you need to know where to mine. If you mine at y:30, you have no chance of diamonds. Exploring caves and branch mining will get you a lot more resources. If you choose to branch mine, branch at y:11 and dig a 1wide 2 tall whole straight. If you find any diamonds, silk touch it and fortune3 it later. Third, I don't get how you can have more lapis than iron. I'm not too sure about this but I would assume that iron be easier to find. Keep in mind that you also made tons of EXP from mining. You can use your EXP and get better tools, or you can sell some for around 1.2k per set. Mining isn't the only way of making money. Even if you don't have tools, you can farm wheat, sugarcane, and other stuff that are instant-break. If you have an Eff5Unb3 axe, go farm pumpkins. One full inventory gets you around 1.3K in less than 30 minutes. You would probably need an e-repair every 4K you earn and many people sell erepairs for $200-500. It may be boring, but if you need money and don't want to risk dieing, farming is a good way to go. Theres also trade chat where you can sell anything you have or look for jobs. If you get something bad from an enchant, sell it or auction it off in auction chat. You can always participate in user run casinos and parkour challenges. There are usually people hiring to clear a place or building and usually pay a decent amount. If you have a farm town, try selling lifetime perms or renting it out for money. All you have to do is add them to your town and come back when their time expires. If you don't want to try any of these to make money and just want to stick to fishing, you probably won't earn as much money as you want in a reasonable amount of time.
