I am creating this thread to gauge interest in product lines that I'd like to offer via my town. The actual structure and rates and terms of each are to-be-determined. Certain products may take time to launch; and I can't launch them all at once.
Please complete the poll with products that interest you (say, 2-4 products that are of most interest to you?), and PLEASE feel free to provide feedback about how things have gone wrong with similar products in the past.
It would also be great if people would post what sort of dollar amount they'd be interested in investing/borrowing, so as to be able to more-reasonably assign rates/fees/terms.
(Note: I am 29 years old and hold a degree in economics, and I have a steady full-time job with lots of responsibility, so I don't anticipate screwing this up and leaving any investors holding the bag.)
?
These are the services that are of most interest to me... (select all that apply)

I've never seen you in-game, or one the forums, before. But ignoring that, the writing style you use lends credence to your claims ;)
I'm very interested in Poll Answers: 2,3,5, & 6
As far as investing and/or debt financing, I'm only really interested in numbers over about 20-30k...
Hope you run with this idea. -
Thanks! Yea, I am relatively new to the ECC world (just got my one month badge a few days ago) and am generally quiet in-game. I'm running a store but am generally unhappy with just how many stores there are, and am interested in pursuing non-retail business.
As in the real world, long term investment accounts would likely pay a regular dividend payment (but the capital invested is subject to potential losses) and the investment would be related to one (or multiple) real investments (i.e. buying a tool for a qualified player or otherwise funding entrepreneurial activity).
Savings accounts would be more secure but would offer a low rate of return. From what I've seen, most players offer unsustainably high interest rates, which eventually leads them to either fizzle out due to overload of the person running it, or massive losses due to same person getting banned for scamming or whatever.
I think NStar based loans could be the source of long term investment accounts' profitability... more to come on these later.
Gambling was one I threw in at the last second. I know people have casinos and I know people love the lottery... not sure if I could compete with either of those, but I have a couple ideas that might be easier to manage and allow for potentially huge returns for the lucky winners.
Thanks again for your feedback! -

I would be very interested in well-managed, reliable financial products. I would love to put $50k-$100k in a safe interest-bearing savings account and I would also be interested in some riskier investments with lower amounts. Are you working on this?
