Well when you think about it wheat shouldn't be $1.25! Like revan said if done properly you can make 20k/hour. That's more than pumps and with having to pay 7k-10k for a pump axe and only needing a fist to farm wheat, wheat should be where it is! However, I do think pumps need to be $0.55-$0.60. My final statement on wheat, melon, and pumpkin prices is that Wheat-$0.70, Pumpkin-$0.60, Melon slice-$0.25, and Melon block-$1.95 to $2.25.

Dude you don't understand! You have to pay to get a melon sword and pumpkin axe, which means that you should make alot more money because you paid for it!

a melon sword costs 300k to about 400k there is a reason why the prices of melon are the way they are

They need to make it Equivalent to the effort it takes to farm "MELONS" its bs that they hit us smaller grade farmers who Actually have to put effort into a farm got a price reduction and melons even went from $1.75 to $1.85, i mean really, Raised melons which are already Insanely profitable with little effort, Pumpkins should have been Kept at $0.60, and in my opinion, things should be priced as follows and noted reasons:

Melon $1.50 <Reason: Does not need replant, but expensive tool,
Pumpkin $0.85 <Reason: Does not need replant, Requires Specific Tool, Single Drop
Wheat $1.00 <Reason: Requires Replanting, but can be flood-Harvested. Single Drop
Carrot/Potato $0.45 <Reason: Requires Replanting, Multiple Drop, Can be Floor Harvested.
Cocobeans $1.10 <Reason: Harder to replant than other crops, Multiple Drop, Grows Slower.
Sugar Cane $1.00 <Reason: Single Drop per stalk cut.
Apples $2.50 <Reason: Hard to gather/Low drop rate from leaves.

And one more thing, and this applies to multiple food items. Why is it that Bread is the same server value as 3 wheat? a Finished product should be worth MORE than the ingredients its made of.
