Bring back the old system of doing it.
Currently, bridges and doors are broken as is.
The bridge (and I'm guessing door but haven't tested it yet) is currently requiring you to fully enverlope the area in the block you are want to use as a bridge. This means, if you have a brick wall, you cant just have 1 line of wooden planks to create the door - it must be 3 wide to get a 1 wide door inserted.
Gates require more resources than required.
Gates can now no longer be built without an enclosure around them. This means, where a gate to be used to create protections (like a manor fence line) cannot work as the enclosure around it wouldn't fit most situations.
Further, castles or buildings where two gate signs are more adequate for opening and closing require more resources than normal and can still end up in one sign, requiring wasted time to fix this.
No protections for Creations.
Further, no Creations is protected by the game any more, this means the blocks can be mined out and grieved creating more paper work for players. This is problematic as Creations should be protected and should never be able to be mined unless in an open state and removed while in this state.
=( I miss SIMPLE Creations. We shouldn't be forced to met Code Designers expectations of how things should look, bridges don't need outlines in the real world, and castles look bad when you give their gates an outline! Bring back power to the builders to make their Creations look good for their situation, not enforced to look all the same and outlined.
Don't forget their protections either, it sucks that you might have to replace blocks because someone mined them out!
Edit=1
Also it seems redwire is more of a pain in the butt than ever now too.
