@29dude Your town's quite a ways from my two towns lol. We can only hope they meet up at some point, my two towns are around 14,600x and -3200z. I'm about to expand one of the routes to my new town but it won't be nearly that far yet. You can build another segment in your region though!
I do have a possible system for naming the routes, we could name the routes based on their general X-Z orientation. So say a route is at 2800z and goes along the X axis (East-West) The number could be Route 2800, and if there's another route at -2800, calling that one 2850 so they have the same thousand, but offset by a half thousand to the next one. Thoughts anyone?
Why not do it like it is here irl (well, here in the US, I can't speek for any where else.) Even numbers run east and west where odd numbers run north and south (odd also run north east and north west) (I am going off of memory from a few years ago so sorry if I got east/west and north/south mixed up). Also going on the fact (This will probably not be used.) a 3 diget number means that road is a interstate or bypass. (again, that may or not be right.)
I'm from the US too, and I was thinking about that lol. It would be 2800 E/W or say 2500 N/S. There's not really a way to do it the way we did in the US cuz we don't know the shape of the landmasses in Rising, which towns want to join, or how big it is lol. US Interstates get smaller as u go west and numbers get smaller as you go south, so I thought we could use the built in grid coordinates to name roads.
Greetings, Although most of my towns are in Legacy, if you need someone to do the labor, I would love to help. I can provide my own materials. Just tell me where to build and the direction to go and I'll go for it. I have previous experience as I have linked about a half dozen towns with a large underground subway system. I'm good at menial tasks as I am not very creative. FYI, There will be a lot of grief. But I still think it is worth it.
Hey guys, I've been away for a while thanks to school but I'm adding some length to the Ecobahn! The cloverleaf is just to the right of the view limit. I'm building a bridge over one of the two rivers that border Bertigstadt. I really like that everyone wants to expand this to all of their towns but we may need to keep it local first. There are a lot of relatively flat biomes near this route if a more experienced player wants to work with me and build a "suburb" to Bertigstadt/ Strauchstadt!
With a new update in place, I would like to suggest something you may like, (I am not 100% sure that this was changed after you left, so do't hold me to that.) as everyone now has /warp, build a little out from your town then have signs that have the /warp to the town it was designed to go to. This would keep the risk of greef down and the amount of work would be lowered.
/warp does somewhat negate the purpose of the Ecobahn, but at the same time it doesn't lol. The idea was to make riding horses safely over really long distances more feasible, and make it fun at the same time. It's just a painstaking build process because of how I designed the roadway. Trying to have the road rise and fall consistently to a 4-6 block stretch of stone, then stone slabs, etc. is a little tedious but since you're sprinting on a horse, we're going to want to see what's ahead of us for a decent distance.
@Jacob43365 The bridge that I just built is at 13402x, 69y, -3017z in Rising. I put the deck on since the pic and the road's about 30 blocks further left in the pic.
