So does anyone know how Exp will transfer between updates? Like if i've got exp in signs, will it stay the same amount? Just had this though, and would like anyone with any possible knowledge on this to help clarify something.

The reason I was asking, was that in the 1.3 file that i tried, I gave myself 4625 exp which is 50 lvls right now, and ended up with like 247 lvls. That seems a little extreme in that with the current rate of exp gain right now, you can make soooo many enchants, while only needing 30 lvls at a time.

I havent test any of the "1.3 files" but the way I thought it was going to work was the levels you have would stay the same but the max level for enchantments would be 30. So if you have 30 levels now, when 1.3 comes you can get an enchantment that would take 50 levels now.

In 1.3 the amount of exp it takes to get to each level is changed. In 1.2.5, it takes 4625 exp to get to 50. I gave myself that amount in 1.3 and it took me to roughly, level 247. Though, I have been tinkering around a bit. I made a map in 1.2.5, gave myself 50 levels of exp. Updated it to 1.3 and was still at level 50. Now, since I was still at level 50 in the update, that means that exp is most likely going to shrink to fit the new exp style. I'm not sure what this means for people who have it stored in signs though, since the signs show the exact amount of orbs. Might have to ask Andrew for his insight on this matter. Will the exp in signs stay the same, or shrink to fit 1.3? I'm guessing we won't know until Andrew tells us.

As it stands, I'm fairly sure that putting it in signs will save it from being cut. I'd suggest doing that while you can... Then again, it may actually be a bad idea to do that. It really depends on a bit of luck hoping for no rollbacks when you put it in the sign. :p -

T_ bone that means when u lose 30 levels it would take away a massive amount of the 247 levels this is what i think
