What part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for:
    Event
    Short title for your suggestion:
    IRL scavenger hunt task duration
    What are you suggesting:
I am suggesting that each scavenger hunt task have a duration of 24 hours instead of the usual 30-60 minutes.
Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:
I think this will allow a lot more users to engage in the hunt. With a longer submission window, more users will be able to take time to create a quality submission instead of taking a random picture of something because they are at work. My favorite tasks were the ones where lots of users had unique and creative submissions.

This change will also level the playing field for users in non-standard time zones. It is frustrating when you can't participate in a task because it happens while you are sleeping.

The IRL Scavenger hunt tasks are giving throughout the day by multiple mods, making the duration 24 hours will only allow for one task at a time and will limit the amount of points people can get within a "season"

Most scavenger hunt tasks were a duration of about 30 minutes, however I have gone over this number a few times. I see where you’re coming from, but realistically, I don’t see a reason to need to go over an hour. Even when the task duration was made 40-45 minutes, not too many more submissions were posted in the 10-15 minutes extra I allotted.

I would like to see a mix of shorter and longer scavenger hunts. Maybe the longer scavenger hunts could be more challenging and more specific

I do not see this being a problem, something the staff can definitely try out if we can make it work :)

We will not be doing 24hr long scav hunts - this would severely limit the amount of available tasks during a scav hunt month therefore limiting the amount of points players can earn.

Instead we will be looking into offering more variety/difficulty in tasks and perhaps offering longer submission times for more complicated tasks.
There really isn't a rule book for it nor did I set any time-limits.
We'll look into doing some variety the next time we run a IRL Scav Hunt period.
