Buy a katana before the tournament from a local blacksmith and cut the person you will fight in the match into several pieces before the start and take the gold medal. Break the blocks around you so you have a staircase out of the hole. You fall into the nether lava on hardcore with full enchanted diamond armor (so you don't die immediately) and the nearest way out is 20+ blocks away from you and the lava is 10+ blocks deep.
