If you choose to Rebuild it you will have to take into consideration:
-The time it will take to rebuild it may take longer than expected to remake them in each detail.
-Dedicated and Professional Building team will be needed to make it.
-Placement of the building will be needed, either in a town or the Aether.
-Donations ranks and Money needed for the supplies to make it.

While I understand where you are coming from, LegendaryTrio I think it needs to be known in this public forum that I know janc87 and dionyzeus VERY well. They are the two players who actually made EmeraldCity what it was. MOST of the reason behind me closing EmeraldCity is because they no longer play here.

This isn't a case of "you're inactive, now i'm getting rid of your structures". I have spent countless hours in game and in both ECC's Ventrilo server and even a private one setup for the 3 of us to plan and roll out EmeraldCity. We have fallen asleep at the keyboard together working on EC. My point is, I know what i'm doing is nothing that is "hurting" them or would hurt them if they were to come back.

janc87 has gone inactive for MONTHS. He popped on a few times here and there over the last few months but that is it. Dionyzeus had a huge say in his structure when janc87 was still active. We BEGGED him to come back and finish it.. but as he stated.. he was bored of Minecraft and playing LOL and other games that were more interesting. This was AFTER his deployment.

Good things come and unfortunately sometimes good things go. Again, while I understand your intentions with this project that you're proposing, I just wanted to clear the air on the above points, because this isn't just a case of town owner destroying beautiful builds when 2 town members go inactive for 7 days. This is a case of town owner sadly closing the town that many people helped build up.. AFTER both the town and the owners of the structures in questions (who also happened to be the co-owners of my town and town planning) went inactive/dead for an extended period of time.

I'm sure if janc87 and dionyzeus, my two very good friends, were still around today, they would support my decision and be right by my side helping me take down EmeraldCity, the city which WE built together. Then God only knows what crazy project we would be up to next. :D

 

I'm glad you wrote that Glock, because if you didn't I was going to write something similar. Although as explicitly said by LegendaryTrio, it would be unfair if anybody came away from this thread with the impression that you were up to something nefarious. Just so everybody knows, Glock is one of the most stand-up people on the server. He worked tirelessly on his town (along with Janc and dionyzeu) and when it finally was not working out closed it and gave everybody more than the required notice. I loved living in Emerald City and I love the structures. I agree with what DeadlyTrio is proposing if it can reasonably be done. But I just wanted to reiterate for everybody reading the thread that Glock hasn't done anything wrong. LegendaryTrio's proposal would apply to any impressive builds in any town rightfully closed by any owner.

No problem. In addition to being a nice guy, Glock also has the flashiest first floor shop in existence :)

 

Wow this title is a mouthful... But I actually think this would be a great thing to put into action. I hope it gets approved!

While legendary is hashing out the details on the building preservation projects. I am going to start to set up and work on making a collection of old screen shots for the society. We decided that sense we are a historical society by name, we might as well work on more aspects of ECC’s history. Creating and collecting a nice group of old pictures in one place we think will help further our goal of celebrating and remembering ECC’s past. I’ll start this collection process at some point in the near future.

 

I'm back, and i have an opinion! Who would have thought!? Anyway, my opinion is that I agree with everything glock says because he is awesome. And so i dont hop topics, as for the museum, i love the idea in theory, but in practicality, I don't think it is a good idea. The best structures on the servers take aaaaaaages to build the first time. Building something that takes 40 hours twice is just too much to ask.
