Now that pumpkins are $1 each this renders all the existing massive farms completely useless becuase pumpkins are now with zilch. Now the price is reduced it will mean that their will be a dramatic drop in spending from sections of ecc such as residents, becuase they cannot afford to waste any money.

I also do not like the fact that a tycoon is now depicting the prices especially becuase I know that he does not have any large pumpkin farm so the price drop will not effect him.
Quite frankly most mods don't need to earn huge sums of money in ecc simply becuase they are doing other things such as developing, running, checking lwcs etc and discussing in game topics such as prices and server disrespect...

Option 1: adjust applications​

Pros: higher farming rates = more money. President and tycoon would be badges of honor and pride. Builders and residents are virtually unaffected in the short term.

Cons: farming is easily acess able to virtually any rank. Residents will become mayors and builders will become residents much faster due to no real limits. Mining, as usual, will take a hit.

Option 2: lower farming prices​

Pros: miners will reap profits from their trade. Will influence the mining stimulus. Builders will easily become residents.

Cons: mayors and presidents will encounter issues affording ranks. Many people will most likely leave the server. Lower prices will be unfavorable to many.

Option 3: committee​

Summary: option 3 seems to me that it can be easily corrupted to a personal need. For example, some mods who own farms will try to bump that while mining mods will try to bump mining. Either way resulting in inflation.

My two cents​

Neither way is a good option. You assume that most residents and below mine to survive while you also assume that most mayors+ will farm. Everyone has their own preference to making money. Committees are too democratic and are easily slowed down or corrupted. The solution, return ecc he way it was before July 1 2012.

 

We should also have some non tycoons/SM join the committee too. Like our economy now, we really need to more of the common folk in power too. Just to get the economy going, we need the common hand to be dealing with the money too.

The committee should consist of:
ALL SUPERMODS
ALL TYCOONS
10 PRESIDENTS
15 MAYORS (such as snowbleie :p)
SELECT RESIDENTS (switches every vote)

The committee should, too, have a limited term.

SUPERMODS and TYCOONS Have a full time office, unless drop out.
PRESIDENTS and MAYORS get a six month term, unless WeWin or one with higher rank allows them to stay other wise.
And finaly, RESIDENTS Will have a one month/vote term...

This is just the way I would think the committee should be ran, but hey, might not even happen.

It might be easy to think, that a vote will hurt the economy, however you need to remember that one person running the economy might not be the best. If we can get us people to talk about the prices of such items, such as farming and ores, then the economy will rise higher then before.

 

I seem to really like the idea of the Group-Committee. Don't forget mods in the bunch! I think that, if we allow the committee idea to go through, that the final say needs to remain within the hands of Kuke/Wewin/Andrew. While the people, in some sense, do need a bit more working room in the world of the economy, the ultimate decision must remain within the staff. We cannot allow the corruptible opinions of Tycoons, Presidents, Mayors, and the general population of E.C.C.

Perhaps an unofficial suggestion coalition suggesting the prices need be added, where a collective vote be created and that vote be suggested towards the beings in charge, that vote counting for the entirety of the members of such organization? I'd be happy to start it up :p

 

A tad bit dramatic? Roll with the punches. I've already converted half of my farms to wheat and am still making money. Plus with a good axe you can still make oodles of money off pumpkins.

I think people need to chill out on the fact that pumpkin farming might stay down. This server is listed as a "hardcore" economy server. Which in turn means, that making money, should not be easy in the slightest. Not to mention I think it is about time for mining to take the lead in the market nowadays. Pumpkin farming is still the most consistent way to make money and you can still hire workers to work your farms for you while you try something new. Here's another idea, try something original. Find an idea that no one is pressing and rule that with an iron fist. Most money making on the server lacks any originality what so ever. Take me for example, I've been plotting up new game ideas to create in my town. I can make a little bit of money off of that as well as create a source of fun and entertainment.

So to end this little speech, I would just like to say one more thing.

This is just a game, you play to have fun. Ranting and getting angry is just defeating the purpose of playing for fun.

 

i really seem to like the idea of a committee that discuss the prices and the pros and cons with each opportunity. the fact that now only 1 player can control all prices, i find ridiculous, since i like prices to make everybody satisfied, and i didn't hear many complaint when the prices were 1.5 per pump. also i recommend only lowering it to 1.25, or like 151baccardi recommended, go like 1.5-1.4 then 1.4-1-3 and so on until the right price is found.

 

People are having a fight against the decision
I predict the pumpkin price will drop even further with 1.3 coming out.EXP will be so easy to get so enchantments for pumpkin farms will be cheaper so the pumpkin price will probably collapse after the release of 1.3.
Think about the enormous outcry If that happened
