actually each phone has different languages used for its applications, for example apple has its own kind of language that is used for app's, and im sure that the other phones are just like that, java is on many/most phones but im also sure you cant make a mobile app with java.
I have a friend in who is making games for android using java, well that is for andoid anyway not sure about other phones Im pretty sure Iphone will run java based apps. have a look at google web tools and phoneGAP.
well jamie is working on windows first, once we get the bugs out of that we will move on towards the next phones, and im hoping that this is apple first off may people on here use/have apple products, however im sure its easier to work with andriod, please just wait until we move on towards the next phone, you will all be notified some how.
ilir i am working on a FAQ post right now, ill link it in here once its done, it will put in all the info and answer all questions you have.
I have made a FAQ post about this please look at it before posting any further questions. http://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/ecc-mobile-app-faq-info.30351/
However windows is not as hard to code, honestly its a good phone to start off with, we will move on to the other phones aswell.
Windows phones? I did not know those existed... 'cause almost no one uses them right now? :b I have an iPhone, and everyone I know is either Apple products or Android. >> Suggestion, though... Help section. I see a lot more use in having the Help section than having the ban appeals/complaints. xD And with applications sections being available, maybe add the wiki?
That is great to know, however im pretty sure we will switch over to my updated version of the post here http://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/ecc-mobile-app-faq-info.30351/ i will keep in mind what you said and im sure jamie will see this aswell.
Java/Android is generally the easiest to program for. There is a reason most uni's teach java and use android as a teaching platform. As for WP7, I can't believe it will ever be as popular as that graph suggests. As someone who works for a mobile app development company, I can only see android becoming stronger and stronger. Business forecasts put the Amazon kindle tab platform (android) as being a big hit this christmas. If you really want write a mobile app for all platforms, html5 is probably the easiest cross platform system, since it can run either in a browser on all devices, or with an app wrapper. (As for the comment about IOS running java, don't bet on it)
