This is so true, it's nowhere near funny.

I got on about a year and a half ago, and I loved this server for what most new people see it as: a big family friendly server with lots of people to help you. And that's exactly what they do. Except for those users who get on deliberately to cause trouble. They get on, and start out, and get to be well trusted. Then BAM! they pull off something major that causes someone to lose tons of money.

My least favorite thing about scammers, is not actually that they scam. Whatever was stolen can be gotten back. Except for trust. Users lend things out, and do loans, because they trust everyone enough to think "Nothing could go wrong, right?" And then they're scammed. So they're less inclined to do the loan again, for fear of losing it again.

 

Amen! @Monkeyz505 I agree with your statement. It just blows the mind to see some of the scamming that well trusted players in this community do. I just can't believe that it happens and then they don't think they will get caught when they do in fact know that they will get caught.

 

Love how only Mayors have posted in here except for 1 who sounds like he is trying to be funny...
I see tons of scammers appealing there bans and i cant believe:
1: How many of them are President rank or higher
2: They 99% of the time get back on the server

I am sorry that you are leaving and Coolit and VictorParas, I have never been scammed luckily and its such a shame someone has ruined the ECC experience for you.
If you ever decide to come back, I can help you out with what little equipment and resources i have cause thats what most people do on this server, help each other out.

 

It's only been mayors who have posted here. Just as an FYI. The "president" you're referring to is a Mayor and he's an ass for saying what he did.

I posted this in the Mayors private forum, basically one thing I want to do on ECC is have a non-profit organization that will help people who have been scammed regain some of their money/tools, up to 100k. I don't want players to think that just because they got scammed, doesn't mean that everything is over.

I have seen an alarming trend when Presidents, Tycoons, EcoLeaders and above are now scamming, trolling, or just plain taking advantage of new users, especially those that may not know how to take screenshots or even know they should.
@Coolit9 , the good news is that @victorparas does not seem to have quit since I saw him playing last night. Hopefully, things will work out for him and he shall succeed despite those losses.
It is a sad state of affairs when trust is lost, hopefully, this trend will stop. It is up to us as a community to attempt to do everything in our power to enlighten especially new users of the perils of a hardcore economy server.

 

A lot of people that are scammed get their stuff back, so this would just be a free 100k...

 

No, it'd be only if they can link me to the complaint and the other person isn't getting back onto ECC. I wouldn't give out money willy nilly.

Victorparas scammed me and took 19 of my nstars. Many other people say they got scammed by him too. I have no screenshots.

There goes 10k down the drain..... :(

I am but you probably won't get banned because I HAVE NO PROOF. If you would just give me my nstars or $ back then it would all be fine...

 

I'm not trying to minimodd here but don't let the mods catch you guys talking about bans/complaints in any section. Just saying. Everyone has the right to play and you have your right to make a complaint. Just how it is.

 

I'm letting the mods look at the logs and handle this. Ill shutup now.

 

I can attest to losing a lump sum of money can hurt. But, I have always went the other route. When I get scammed, or screw over, I bounce back. Sometimes I might sit in limbo and do nothing for a bit, until I can fully grasp what happened. Players who truely get scammed like this I would gladly give it back to em out of my pocket, that is just who I am. For future reference, if you get scammed, and possibly have the SS let me know and I can try to help. I feel Victor should comeback, and farm/mine his money back, just to show those two that they aren't even worth his time. But this is just my opinion from experiences.
