You have no idea how much I'd kill to go... hell I'd buy a plane ticket right now if my parents would let me x.x
You guys may want to really think this through... I know I’ve been a “stick in the mud” when it comes to this stuff... but there is way too much risk involved especially for minors... If I was Andrew... I would distance ECC from this as much as possible. We live in a real world folks... we just play online.. Please use caution. Sincerely... “The old guy”
Also, Added a here poll here to see what everyone wants to do the most. An itinerary will be made sooner than later!
Things like this have happned in the past with no issues but yea there are weird ppl out there maybe we should try to keep this 18+? IF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS.
The last meet up was fun, nothing bad happened aside from @khrones and @pokemon9508 breaking down on their way home. I get some people’s concerns with meeting people online, but I think it’s safer if there is a group of people. We’ll see how many actually goes to this one. Loads of people wanted to go last time and a bunch said they would try, but in the end only 7 went. I am still very interested in going to this. I have so much to work out on my end tho that I just don’t know yet.
Thing is too, it’s always a good option to go with someone that you know (even if they are not associated with ECC). I drove to the San Diego Comic Con from Chicago with a friend who probably would never associate themselves with crap like that. Point is, even if the person is not ECC, at least you have a travel companion that you know EDIT: Autocorrect is bad
I agree with this- for reasons we should keep the meeting around 17/18+, and if anyone younger wishes to come, they should have a parent come with them as well. (I don’t think anyone younger than 17’s parents would let them go to NYC and meet random strangers anyways.) A reminder that we’ll also be in public places 100% of the time, all activities will be done in well known and safe areas. As Jdawger said as well, it would be helpful to have a travel companion for safety!
I would go in a heartbeat, but as you said, being a minor is a concern. Also, being someone who doesn’t live in the USA/Canada is also a concern. The meetup is a beautiful idea, but there’s also cost and hotels and getting there. People who don’t live in the America’s are going to have heck of a problem trying to get into it (especially some countries, because come on-Americas travel laws are just so crazy ATM) Where will we all stay? Will we just all crash in Matrix’s house? Maybe we should plan a meetup in the very distance future. For example, if we have a few years to plan we may be onto something.
