I think there would be a huge benefit if there was a trade command that let someone instantly trade with you upon accepting the trade. It would also stop scams in drop trading around the spawn with people following you to pick up the goods that are dropped. I think this would also limit the lag at spawn from players going there to trade.
the command could be something like this:
/trade [quantity and item you are to give] [User you are trading with] [what user is giving you]
ex: /trade 64:dirt Andrewkm $100000
In this example, i would be giving 64 dirt, and Andrewkm would give $100,000
And to accept this trade it could be something like:
/taccpet [username] -or- /tyes [username]
ex: /taccept Foanma -or- /tyes [Foanma]
This is what Andrewkm would type if he wishes to accept the trade.
To decline could be as simple as:
/tdecline -or- /tno
Name wouldn't be needed because you are just declining, and there is no risk of this.
If accepted, the item would be placed in your inventory or balance, but if your inventory is full, it would be dropped on the ground for you to pick up. Make sure you are in a safe spot like your home and near a chest.
I think this would help greatly in trading user to user when you are on, and the use of making a trade sign just to trade would not be needed. Also the trade of bulk would be faster if both of you are standing at your own chests filling inventory for trade and emptying after, useful when buying dirt and cobblestone :)
EXCEPTIONS:
Renamed objects would not be tradeable like this to avoid confusion of what is being receive, and to prevent sending the wrong item.
Echanted items would need special names such as:
-----diamond shovel with enchantments unbreaking III efficiency III and Silktouch I:
-----dsu3e3s1
-----it looks confusing but it is easily translated to what the item is.
Or echanted items would still have to be drop traded.
I would really like some feed back on if this would help people, and maybe get
andrewkm to give his input saying if it would be possible or not.

I feel this would be a great way to trade, however instead of just typing the name of the object and quantity out, wh don't we do this? whatever item one wants to trade, one puts it in their hand. Then they do the command:
/trade [amount] [name of recipient] [what user is giving you]
By doing this we can reduce time of trade and simplify the trade. -

Foanma, please to not tag Andrewkm, it is unnecessary.

I would think that the recipient knows what hey are getting as both parties have talked to one another through chat and negotiated the deal. Also, with it in hand while you trade it it could be worked out that the recipient sees what is being received.

Use a trade sign, use a lwc'd chest, have a staff member 3rd party it...
There's lots of things you can already do for safe/quick transactions.-

but the idea is so you wouldn't have to meet up somewhere and it could be done quick AND SAFE.
I think it would appeal most to people buying large quantities of things that they would need to put into a chest in order to get more. I am sure that more valuable items like diamonds Nstars and enchanted items would still be traded using trade signs to eliminate risk of loosing anything because of a possible typo, but it should appeal to a large audience -
If there is convenience involved... maybe a trade station could be set-up in spawn ? I've seen others do it and it works. May be a little hassle to set-up but im sure some users would love to do it.

I like the idea of having automated trades, I just think it would be too hard to add and Andrew would deem it unnessasary.

I think this would be really cool if it was possible and added. It would be incredibly useful for easier trading and other things.
