From the wiki:
Basically claiming a town from a user you suspect is PermaBanned will be much harder then claiming a town from a user who has simply been offline for 6 months or more.

It's meant to be difficult to claim towns via PermaBan.

 

The real question is how do we deal with people who have their online forum status hidden?

Anywho, somewhat related, I think it would be nice for players to see perma'd users with a strikethrough.

 

You'd ask a staffmember to check and screenshot?

 

It's an XenForo feature that automatically says "User profile not availible." unless you're a admin.

 

Shouldn't it be easier to claim towns from users who have been permanently banned? If someone has been permanently banned in theory they will never be returning to play on the server. Someone who has been inactive may decide to return and will probably want their town. Wouldn't it make sense to make it easier to claim the town of player who will never returning before the town of players who may return?

 

You can do a forum search for posts from a certain user.

 

Only Staff can override the restriction of banned users profiles.

In theory, but not in reality. There really is not such a thing as a permaban on this server.

You're assuming that XenForo has ECC ranks built in. Generally when one is referring to administrator they mean staff.

 

What do you mean? in XenForo there are Moderators and Administrators. GA+ have Administrator powers, Moderators and Super Moderators have Moderator permissions.
