    Hi All,

    Has anyone experienced this:

I have a cocoa farm about 14 blocks high and 64 blocks long. After i have harvested both sides of the jungle wood i get 4 stacks of cocoa beans for the effort. I literally see stacks of Cocoa beans disappear right in front of me. This has happened 3 times today and i even called a mod to come have a look.

Is anyone experiencing this as well? I just might have to quit farming it is costing me money.

The issue may be that you're currently on the edge of a chunk resulting in this to occur. A very similar issue occurs with sugar cane as well.

As well, I have moved this thread from the Ban Appeals/ Complaints Section to Help & Support / Errors & Bugs.

Do the items or the cocoa itself disappear? If the first, are you harvesting them all and then collecting so they may despawn already? If the second, back is most likely correct. A chunk border and thus the cocoa sees no log next to it and falls off.

Move the row by 1 block to the front or to the back. It simply needs both cocoa and logs tgo be int he same chunk.

I've been having this problem recently :( my farm is harvested with water, and I see my whole farm disappear randomly sometimes during the harvest. I would have maybe 5+ stacks visible in front of me in the water coming to me and then suddenly all of my 14000 cocoa beans disappear from the whole farm  there is no way every bean is on a chunk border. This happens totally randomly, and i do the same thing every time, 70% of the time it all harvests fine.... Is there anything I can do to stop this or is it just a "minecraft bug"? Thanks

This is an issue with Mojang's side.
I'm actually looking into what the heck causes it.

I feel your pain @MichaelC150. I planted a 2000X200 cocoa farm and because of the border chunks problem I now have to move the entire farm 1 block to the right. Can you imagine!!

I have found, too, that sugarcane also has episodes of vanishing. There was a farm I used to hang out in where parts of rows or even entire rows would disappear. No way to give an example now, though, as the farm was torn down.

    Oasis_farms. :p

I wish Minecraft code would load two chunks if something is dependant on a block next to it and on a chunk border. ._.

Or just not break if the crop is next to an unloaded chunk.
