You should ask around. With an economy as small as ours total demand can be easy to find.
also if something's price is rising, odds are that its in demand. Opposite if the prices are falling. -

Just like when andrew added the EXP signs a few months back, as well as re-enabling EXP in the mining world, EXP became a hot commodity (and still is) due to the amount of EXP required to enchant.
Basically, if a lot of people need something to make a task easier, the item is generally in higher demand. -
